When will I be able to buy the 6.8 western?

Is there anything more classic than a controlled feed Model 70 Featherweight 270?

Yup, a Remington 700 chambered in the 270 Win. is much nicer. I forgot to update my 270 Win. Mag. thread. It's now shooting an average of 3,362 fps (accuracy is the same/sub .5 moa) with my new Petersen Brass Cases, with 60.0 grains of Alliant #26. Peterson is really great brass, it's most consistent in weight, hard and heavier than most other brand name. Meh! Meh! Meh! The 6.8 Western, yea right,
I'll rest it this hunting season, taking out the 300 H&H Mag. and 240 Wby. Mag. for critters.

Push a 6.8 Western to the same pressures and it will give you another 100 fps, if speed is important to you

That is 3% man... 3 % is not really a big deal in my world.
Can generally make up 3 % by not doing wrong... don't even have to get it right... just not flub it to have it pay off.

or maybe Track could have a 24" barrel instead of 27" on his 270WCF to equal the velocity

There's lots of ways to look at how an optimized cartridge gives advantages in the field

I say the more, the merrier. I like the looks and specs of this new cartridge. It’s following the latest trends and technology. Heavy bullets and fast twist!! A logical improvement to the 270wsm!

Read my signature line. Hunters have guns built for their pleasure, to test the rifles attributes, to push it to it's full potential. All my rifles are sub .5" at 100 yards, the rifles have achieved their goals and then some.

I like your signature. I though I was a $hittty hunter, turns out I’m a trophy hunter.

That is because some of us do not give a dam about how big a set of antlers is to brag over .
All I see is belt buckles, screwdriver handles and knives slabs when i see a set if antlers, regardless of the size!:p
Cat

Some hunters love the challenge and to prolong their hunting season to hunt a big buck. To hunt on opening day, shoot a small buck and call it a season...........no thanks! I prefer to hunt all season without tagging, than to shoot a dink buck within the first week of the hunting season.
