At some point (hopefully before placing the order!) you have to pick a length and stick with it. Should be nearly the same goodness regardless.

Just placed the order a few days ago. 26” is IBI’s standard length with the Carbon Hunter.
$50.00 extra to pick a different length.

I was thinking I would have a day or 2 to change to 24”.

Maybe 30 to 50fps velocity loss? Wouldn’t be missed with a 75gr ELD-M.

I went 26" on mine, just so I could see the speeds. Knowing what it does with the long pipe, I would not be worried about cutting it down to 24" or even 20"

I've never had such a tough time deciding on a barrel length.
I probably should be shooting more and reading less. There is definitely a trend south of the border for 22" and shorter barrels with the 22CM. Probably because they can run suppressors.

I am going 24" too.

IBI Carbon Hunter

Should be right at 3lbs.

New Manners EHT stock and Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22x50 on top - time to get it dialed in and hunt!

Ooh, that's a nice update - looks incredible! Is it factory bottom "metal" with an extended mag? Did you have someone thread the factory bolt handle, or just replace it with aftermarket? I really like my T3x, but prefer a more "tactical" bolt knob with knurling in matte black, that's about the only change I'd make.
 
This one is using the OEM plastic trigger guard. I did pick up the 5 round M+ mag this summer, after emptying the 3 round mag on wolves last winter! The bolt handle is from CORE TAC solutions, nice to use with gloves on
 
Got the rifle back on paper this afternoon. Was a balmy -18c! A nice change from the -30 we've had for almost three weeks

Tried a new load, 80gr Hornady ELDm over H4350 in virgin Peterson brass. Velocity was 3350 fps, this will do for the winter predator needs!

80's @ 3300+, that's a thing of beauty. No recoil, great scope choice, looks super accurate. I give it a 9/10, but a full 10/10 if I reverse the image so it's right-handed :)

RL26 was faster yet! Group was really good too, 0.6moa 4 shot 100m
