This tweet from Glen MacGregor last night appeared on a Maclean’s staff writers Twitter:
….Conservative campaign says leader Erin O’Toole did not misspeak in TVA debate when he said he’d leave Liberals’ assault-weapons ban in place. That will play well in Quebec, but appears at odds with CPC platform.
Regardless of what CPC and O’Toole have planned for this I don’t see any other option than to vote for them. Hopefully he was just being sly with Quebecers and was referring to the 1977 ban.

He is saying the same thing in this mornings press conference, "I will keep the assault weapons ban". I would like a clarification but I do think he's trolling the media as they keep using the term "assault weapon", which have been banned since 1977.

I want no such clarification. Let him convert a few of these all important Quebec voters and see how things fall. The guys not dumb and has spent 13 years serving in our military, he knows the difference between a deadly assault weapon and scary (looks only) AR’s and has the lawyer skills for the rhetoric, and besides, it’s not like there any other better options at this point for us enthusiasts.

I'm confused. Everybody is talking about military style assault weapons. I thought these firearms are fully automatic once. These firearms are illegal in Canada since the 1970s. All these banned guns are semi automatic firearms and no army in the world would go to war with these guns when there are fully automatic ones available. What am I missing?

Even the liberals are not this stupid. Single fire Rifles and shotguns are not going anywhere in Canada. Even the countries with the strictest gun laws on the planet still have guns available, less of them off course with more hoops to jump through but they are there. I’m talking about you Australia, New Zealand and yes, even Japan.
That pretty much sounds like ALL to me. I'm not interested in single shot break actions whatsoever.

We currently live in a country that is banning you from existing in ''society", having a job and soon not being able to buy food at the grocery store if you are unwilling to consent to endless experimental drug injections (booster,variant boosters,pills that will also be required) for a cold bug that is basically a 100% survival rate for most people that they have been propagandizing for almost two years...
If you don't realize this is a huge hoax, well you have bigger problems...
They kicked off the destruction of the firearms industry in Canada with the OIC and it will never right itself...the damage has been done.
I am far more concerned about the medical tyranny and outrageous government over reach than the threat of further gun control...
Can't buy guns if you're sick from your endless injections, can't buy guns if you aren't ''allowed" to have a job, can't buy guns if no business exists to sell them...

He was referring to the 1977 ban on automatic weapons, not the OIC.
