Kobra red dot sight

Finally got around to mounting the kobra on one of my folders. Must say I really love it. Looks a lot better than the pic rail imo, and the sight itself I like a lot as well. I have an astigmatism and find the chevron and three dash reticles are incredibly crisp. I still get some starburst with the dot though, but it seems a lot less than my vortex dots and even a little bit less than my holosuns. My only complaint, which I was already aware of before purchase, was that it might not be quite bright enough for very bright lighting conditions. Seems bright enough for green lush tree like environment in NS, but I wouldn't want to be using it in the desert. I did have to tighten the mount on the underside that TI mentioned earlier in the thread and it locks up very tight. Only issue I ran into during install of the optic mount plate was that I thought I heard TI say in the installation instruction video to set torque wrench to 40-inch lbs and ended up snapping a bit in two. Set the wrench to something lower and figured good enough since I added loctite as well. Can't wait to get it zero'd in at the range!

Speaking of zero, I know zeroing one reticle doesn't zero them all. Are you able to zero every reticle and have them hold zero or do you kind of have to pick which reticle you want to use because zeroing one reticle will change the zero on others?

I watched a video where they switched reticles and they seemed to hold zero between the different reticles.

thank you for the report. for astygmatism glad to hear that one is lower than other red dot. if im reducing some red dot it is working great so wont be an issue on that one at least for me.

Getting mine soon, anyone have any personal experience with good zeros to use for the kobra reticles? For example, the Chevron with dot, if i zeroed the dot for 100m, what distance would strike the tip of the Chevron? Also open to any 7.62x39 zero range people use.

My install of the side Mount went well. I can’t for the life of me get the Kobra to slide over the side mount. It’s an absolute interference fit.

So far, a waste of $600 and an hour of my life.

Anyone else have this problem?

Edit: just tried the KOBRA ona standard AK side rail - it fit perfectly.

Pretty sure they sent the wrong mount.

Kobra arrived today, bit of a mixup in my order won't get into details as i'm waiting to hear back from TI.

Currently trying optic to plate compatibility off the rifle. Kobra and generic UTG AK mount fit good.
POSP SVD mount is a tight fit and it is unknown at this time if it will work as it would have to be slid in from the front.

Do you think you’ve got the wrong side rail too?

My Kobra fits over a standard AK side rail - I tried and it works well. No way it’ll fit over the side rail they sent me to install with my Kobra.

Interesting. I didn't have this problem. Kobra fit fine over the rail though I had to tighten the Kobra mount as demonstrated in the video below. Perhaps with your Kobra you need to loosen the Kobra mount a bit?

No. That’s not the problem.

Can you post a pic of your rail? My Kobra fits fine on a standard AK rail. Now way on gods green earth the Kobra will fit on the rail TI sent me.

They’ve sent the wrong rail or their rail is horribly out of spec.

Wonder if they sent you a side plate for their pic mount by accident.
