Very nice! Another thing I think of to complete the look is to push the sight base back to the cleaning rod holder and to mount a custom muzzle device to hide that extra 1.5" of a barrel - that will make it look totally like a Vepr (Boar in Russian))
Vepr is also a derivative of an RPK, similarly to your build

In YT, yes. In the Okanagan, there is almost no game left to hunt, compared to 5 years ago.

On a sidenote, does anyone know exactly why TI make their picatinny sidemount and corresponding sideplate so out of spec as to disallow using pretty much everything else?
VOMZ Pilad 043-02 Side Rail Mount seems the russians do not like belarus system so will see.
Anything under 470 mm or 18.5" puts the rifle in the restricted class.

Technically if you cut a rifle barrel less than 457mm it puts it in the prohibited class.
Yes. I would cut to 18.6" to give yourself some wiggle room.

You CAN cut like 4mm off the t81 barrel if you wanted. But if you cut the barrel down below 18 inches you blow past restricted and land yourself with a prohibited weapon. You could have a 12" barrel made and installed and have a restricted t81. But you cant take the factory barrel and cut it any shorter than 18 inches.
I believe the t81 has a 475mm barrel though doesnt it? So you could only cut it to 470 or 471 to leave a little wiggle room.
