I do have a Winchester model 64 deluxe made in 1953. All original. The bluing is 98%. The original finish is flaking, but there is no scratchs or bumps. Someone asked me why the elevator was at the maximum and this is because I only shoot 150 cast with mild charge of IMR4198 or Trailboss.

I have the same rifle in the 20" barrel version. It was my Great Grandfather's and dates the first year of production. According to the folks I spoke with at the Cody Museum and another Winchester historian the receiver was struck with the serial # Sept 13, 1933. The rifle is all original and still wears the factory military style sling. It's in 30 WCF calibre. It hasn't seen use in many, many years. Since we have so many tags available for deer in my area this year(5) I am going to try to fill one WT tag and one Mulie tag with it.....it deserves to be out and about after all these years....granted mine is nowhere near the condition yours is having been carried to death by both my Great Grandfather and then Grandfather....it skipped my father who doesn't hunt and came directly to me a number of years ago....

Thats a beauty

I need to get one of these one day.

My new Mossberg 464 is coming in today. I have several 350 Legend bolt actions which have produced two deer so far this year. Great Deer and Bear round BTW.
I've read so many scathing reviews of this Mossberg 464 3030 I had to order one when I found one to see if people are full of it.
My experience is most guys think a brand new Leverguns should work like a 50 year old model 94 or 336. Of which I have several from new..
Mine are 1950s vintage and they were POS when I bought them too. Especially the model 94s. It took time to work them in.
The price on these Mossbergs is crazy cheap.
I'll see what it comes like and let you all know.
I see model 94s here in the Maritime go for stupid prices. Yup you heard me. Stupid prices.
Once Ruger releases the new 336s next month these prices are gonna tank imho. I'll order one of those too.
I paid 600 bucks for a brand new levergun. So if I have to massage the thing
Who cares.
Long live any levergun.

Bought my first 94 in 66’ when I was like 12 years old for $75. Back in the day when I could carry it on my horse riding down the road and people would just smile and wave. That was then....

Now I have these 30/30’s.
A 1910 Sav 1899B
1996 Win 94 unfired
1954 Win 94
1947 Marlin 36 A-DL
Marlin 1893 that I restocked.

Beautiful guns in here. Do you guys think there's a chance I may regret a 30-30 for hunting in Ontario? I'm itching for a 336, but the 1895s are also calling to me - do I just go big right away, or is there really no need for it in this province? Deer and bear, and maybe a moose hunt in the distant future.
