In honour of the Ontario gun hunt, a classic deer rifle paired with a classic scope for the tight bush of central Ontario.

Can't get more Ontarian then this. Well maybe sans scope, great pic either way.
In keeping with the true central Ontario deer camp motif, its a 1.5-4 Bushnell circa 1980s(?) scope.
I have one of those old Japanese made Bushnell 1.5-4 scopes and they are great and just about perfect for a 30-30 IMHO.
I do have a Winchester model 64 deluxe made in 1953. All original. The bluing is 98%. The original finish is flaking, but there is no scratchs or bumps. Someone asked me why the elevator was at the maximum and this is because I only shoot 150 cast with mild charge of IMR4198 or Trailboss.

I have the same rifle in the 20" barrel version. It was my Great Grandfather's and dates the first year of production. According to the folks I spoke with at the Cody Museum and another Winchester historian the receiver was struck with the serial # Sept 13, 1933. The rifle is all original and still wears the factory military style sling. It's in 30 WCF calibre. It hasn't seen use in many, many years. Since we have so many tags available for deer in my area this year(5) I am going to try to fill one WT tag and one Mulie tag with it.....it deserves to be out and about after all these years....granted mine is nowhere near the condition yours is having been carried to death by both my Great Grandfather and then Grandfather....it skipped my father who doesn't hunt and came directly to me a number of years ago....

As much as I do love a Win 94, I'd put an older Marlin Texan 336 up against the winny every day of the week. She a beauty.
