Well found out tonight that the Gormley IPSC club is getting kicked out of The Grange range by the new owners of Target Sports. We have to have our stuff out by February 5. Way to go Target Sports/whoever the new owners are. Thanks for helping to dvelop different shooting sports
(PPC and some of the other clubs that rent space have been kicked out too).

I will never buy anything from you and will always recommend people stay away from your facility/store. Good luck getting any customers from the IPCS community.

Geez, you guys sound like Ontario liberal whiners. Why don't you find out what the issue is before you have a stroke from self-righteous indignation? There's several guys from TSE on the board, maybe just ask them if you're not up to talking to the original owner (who's still a partner from what I've read)?

Is it possible that because the CFO may not approve the "B" side for any sports that involve movement forward of the line that they have stopped IPSC?

I heard that if you can see the underside of the roof from a shooting position, you can't shoot in that position.

I also heard that there is only a consulting relationship between the "new" folks and the TS owners. The people at TSE deny "ownership" deal.

Let's give the TSE people a chance to make things better there. They only have one direction the can take the place now. What ever they do, it is sure to improve the facility and possibly create a first class place for all the GTA people to shop and play.:D

From what I herd from the GPST director they are not negotiating. They do not want any shooters in the club who are not paid club members or rental shooters. They have talked about making improvements to the facility but they would not even negotiate to try and keep IPSC there.

Again, this is just my understanding, but there is some intent to have people come and rent a gun from the store to use on the range for a rental fee of some sort. I'm told they have that set up going in Calgary.

Based on the fact that the TSE in Calgary has a weekly IPSC night league, and matches in the winter monthes are held there... the next one being Jan 13, there may be more to the story than is being told. The TSE owners are definately not anti IPSC or as far as I know any other shooting sport.

What I was told, was that if you are not a member of the club itself, then you got the boot.. the GPST was "Renting" time to run the matches..

so.. if they can't get you to pay the 500+ per members to join the club itself, they don't want your rental fees (which are a lot less, when you add it up per person shooting the matches) Money talks, and renters walk..

TMH, if you knew anything about me you would know I'm not even close to liberal. I'm just expressing frustration that the place where I go to shoot IPSC with a great group of people, has now said we can't shoot there with little or no explination. If this wouldn't frustrate you then you are made of better stuff then me.

From what you've heard...is it Club Level IPSC Practices that have been cancelled...or Sanctioned matches...or both?

Cheers

From what we were told they are cancelling all IPSC activities unless you are a paying member of The Grange or Target Sports or whatever they will call themselves. So I guess in effect they are only cancelling sanctioned matches, but in effect they are cancelling club level too as most people that shoot IPSC with GPST are not members of The Grange. Also they told the club director to have all the IPSC props removed by February 5, so it will be hard to hold club matches without props.

Sounds like an AD,...doesn't make sense to kick out the very participants who can bring in income,....the internet makes a small world.

All IPSC matches and all other clubs that rent range time there are or will be told to leave

Look at the upside of this.If the intention is to make the Grange into a "public club" along the same format as TSE,it will make the police forces job easier to find the criminals and gang bangers .They will all be at the Grange sharpening their skills to use on the street. How long do you think it will be before this operation gets shut down. Can I buy a square for time and date.
