Cull Buck Down

I've only recently become familiar with umchorn. I did some reading into his posts based on some of the slag thrown at him by other members of the board. If you aren't familiar with him, do some reading. Everything they say is true. To sum it up, he is a goof. He has fantasies about "managing" herds in a way that can only be described as farming while pretending he is a magical steward of the land. I may hold personal judgements as to the way some people hunt. But so long as they call what they do what it is and aren't doing anything painfully unethical I mind my tongue. This man however is insufferable.

And you can no longer see the half of it as he has gone into his old posts and edited out alot of stuff he posted so as not to look like the goof he is.

Wow, amazing how someone can get slagged for there choice or reason for taking the said animal.

We are individuals and we make choices as to what animal we may or may not take.

I personally grew up eating so much venison that I am basically done with it. I have basically stopped hunting due to the unruly so called arm chair hunters that come from the city.

If I do go again there is only one animal I will take, he better have a big rack. It is not about I paid for my tag I shoots the deer. I would rather shoot a doe versus a young buck. That is my choice.

So cut the guy some slack.

JMO

It does indeed seem he is getting harsh treatment...but it wouldn't seem that way if you were familiar with his past history here on CGN.

Just seeing a new post by Umchorn...the man, the myth, the legend...is almost enough to make me want to make some popcorn and take the phone off the hook to enjoy some great reading.

He is getting slagged because he is a douche, not because of the deer he took... there is lots of history on CGN with this guy.

That's it in a nutshell.

NNNOOOOOOOO!!!! Say it isn't so!

I was just thinking about searching up some of his old posts to see what kind of progress he had made with some of his wonderful schemes. Did he ever get that pair of Kodiak Bears and introduce them onto his property? Did the bison herd come to fruition? Was the game fence ever put in place?

Now we will likely never know, if he has in his wisdom chosen to classify all that stuff as Top Secret. What a senseless loss to humanity! All that priceless knowledge and hunting lore...irretrievably gone...

WHYYYYYYYYYYY????????? :ang

The absolute (and completely missed by the OP) irony here is that if all he did was post that he had these pictures, or that buck, nobody would blink. It's just the sales pitch for the fantasy version of reality that gets folks back up.
Y'know, the story about "Managing his herd" and "It's a cull buck"!

He can keep his deer farming. Well, that parts he can afford to do, anyways. Apparently, fences and stock, are not actually in his Budget!

Farmed deer have ear tags, they don't require anyone's permits to shoot (cull) them, and the owner actually has control over who breeds who, as far as the genetics goes. Until then, any attempts to claim ownership of any wild deer out there will be met with howls of derisive laughter!
A wild deer is not owned by anyone, until they apply a legally purchased Tag to it, signifying a Legal Harvest. 'Till then, talk of such, is just another Joke!

Yes I may have not followed the history of the original poster but you have to be realistic here. We all have our opinions on hunting and which animal, bird, fish we choose to take and harvest. We will never agree. That is the nature of mankind.

We do not have to get wound up in ones beliefs or ideals. Read it, take it with a grain of salt.

I have my opinions of hunters and the game animals they choose to harvest. If I brought those up I would be hated just as much.

Thus I have stopped actively hunting whitetail.

I think a discussion could be started on the topic of hunting practices. I bet it would turn into a sh## show in short order.

Again JMO

You missed it again, Calvin... this has nothing to do with the animal taken or the philosophy behind the harvest... it has to do with the (unwarranted) arrogance and narcissistic rantings of an individual, namely "Umchorn2."

Hahaha

Unless you have unlimited tags on a multi thousand acre high fenced property, there is no such thing as a "cull" buck and no such thing as "managing" a deer herd. I think everyone can recognize that, even umchorn.

I think umchorn just likes to troll you guys. Laugh2

I don't understand the need of all you guys piling on bull#### and slagging this guy.
There's a real schoolyard mentality on display here.

Which to me is sad. Way worse than any crazy ideas the OP might have.

No matter what his ideas are. He's not harming anybody by what he's doing.

Uninformed folks might come on this forum and read the incorrect trash he posts so it's important to call out such nonsense so misinformation isn't spread. Then there's the fact that over years he has resorted to name calling and belittling people who simply disagree with him.

He is getting exactly the attention he deserves and seeing his name in pink would be rather satisfying.
