284 win

I have somehow accumulated a silly number of 7mm rifles in 7 WSM, 7 RSAUM, 7mm-08, 7X57, 7X64, .280 and a current 7mm project rifle that is so silly I will not discuss it for fear of ridicule. I also just sold a .284 rifle. If I was forced to live with only one, it would probably be the 7X64, although the 7X57 would do just as well.

Cant be much worse than my 7mm-378 Wby experiment in the 80s. Think I needed to burn charcoal in that one, lol. - dan

I have owned a 284 for many years and is my go to hunting rifle. It was born a 30/06 Mod 70 Winchester and had it re-barreled to 284. I can get a col of3.050 and still have just more the a .284 seating depth... very easy to run right along side the more powder stuffed 7RM. This little sweet heart is a tac driver

Sounds like a Great Rifle - What loads you running out of yours - Powder -Bullets - What FPS do you get ? barrel Lenght ? Thxs RJ

Absolutely Nothing EXCEPT its KOOLER (jmo) and it will work well chambered in a STD lenght action rifle much better then in a Short action Especially with 145-175 gr bullets ! . RJ

I can only get (284 win ) 2.825 COAL in my M600/M7 rifle - Even with milling out the action and using a extended mag box i would only get to a MAX of 3.0 inches - I can get up to around 3.300 with the Tikka -

Used to have a 99C in 284 but she gone.

Replaced with this, Weatherby Vanguard, Ron Smith barrel in 284 Win, Dednutz mount, Hogue overmolded stock and Leupold scope, love it.
