Video of the day

So? If they wear ukranian uniforms and are under ukranian command they are combatants and to ge treated according to the geneva convention. Not this matters much to the russians.

It doesn't matter to Putin, he's all in. He knows he either wins, or he gets the Beria Retirement Package. Some of his generals are in the same boat. The further down the chain of command, the more likely they are to buck the order. The Russian troops appear to be a bit of a mixed bag, when it comes to commitment to the cause. This is one of the rare cases where leaflet bombing might actually do some good. At the very least, they should be getting a Cole's Notes version of the Geneva and Hague conventions.

True. I already saw pictures of leaflets for the russians. Let's hope they surrender in masses.

And now for something completely different.

How to jack a Russian Tank Like A Pro in 30 sec.

Crash course for all Ukrainians how to steal, start, drive, fill up Russian tanks range T72-T90. It actually takes less than 30 seconds to start a T72. Five minutes long video in Polish with Ukrainian subtitles.
Group of absolutely brilliant Polish guys from Military History Museum have made a video explaining in really simple way how to operate Russia made tanks. I’m only afraid that in case of T80 range tanks it might not work.

^ They should have shown how to start with the air tanks. A trip down memory lane and if I ever won a huge lottery I would buy a couple and land to take for a spin.

From the manual, Electrical Start-Up after turning on vehicle Master Switch

1. Depress the rubber push button "Aux.Oil Pump-Engine" for 8-12 seconds to create maxium oil pressure (not lower then 2 bars) after which release push button

2. Depress the push button "Starter" and after 2-3 seconds (from commencement of the crankshaft revolutions) quickly pressing the accelerator pedal 1/3 of its travel

3. Once engine starts running, relase the starter push -button and set to minium r.p.m. in idle run (800 r.p.m)

The little rubber bladed fan works very well with each crew member having one on the T-72, you work with what you have. After a day with the sun beating down on a tank the insides are nice and warm for a good while into the night, on the Leopard pumping up the submergence hydraulics made for a warm place to back deck sleep.

The Germans could never afford the lavish use of artillery that characterized Allied operations. " They had no need to take risks".
