My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Congratulations, Foster - That's pretty darn good for a factory Lithgow and I'm pleased the the new rifle is what you hoped it would be.
Allan.

Hey guys. Some great shooting going on here, BUT 3 of the last 4 entries don’t qualify. The 1 that does meet the requirements is a good example of what’s required. Please read and follow the requirements if you want added to the list.

James harrison you need to post it in the rimfire forum were you could get feedback, this is not that place, live and learn.ps you we're good on the steelers.

I'm new to rimfire. I spent last two months testing diffrent 22LR ammo on my CZ 457 American. I tried at least 6-7 different rounds and finally narrowed it down to two that work the best with this little Chech rifle. Lapua SK 22 LR flat nose basic seems to be the most consistent with repeated sub .40" five round groups on 50 yards.

I tried this challenge myself yesterday, but remembered the rules wrong! Please don't take this as my official entry, moreso just a launching point for discussion.

First range day of the year and this is a 150$ brno model 3 I'm currently restoring (more info linked in my sig). The magwell and butt stock were designed and 3D printed myself. The scope is some 120$ Chinese 6-24 I got off the EE with 1/8 moa adjustments but a Milrad reticule... I have a wonderfully rigid setup as well, and was shooting 5 and 10 rd groups, based off what mag I was testing function on. This is the best I ever shot rimfire in my life (creating "one" hole in a group) with CCI standards I just bought 5000 rds of. The aguila's did not perform very well at all. The circles are 1.25" inside the outline for reference.

I recently managed to shoot a 10 shot group at 50m that measured 0.375", so tried this challenge right after. I still can't manage to string 5 groups in a row though, except the one time I kept shooting because I didn't think one of them would make the cut. I've tried this challenge off and on with a couple different rifles over the years, but just can't shoot good enough to do it yet. Oh well, have to just keep trying I guess.

Did this today with my CZ 457 At One 20” with a match chamber. Rests are a Caldwell bipod and a rear bag. Scope is an Athlon Argos BTR 8-34x56. Ammo was SK Basic Flatnose. Tried SK Magazine, but it wasn’t consistent enough.

Group sizes:

0.267
0.257
0.397
0.235
0.478

Average of all groups:
0.3268”

I’ll keep trying other ammo to see if I can shrink the groups.

.25 group for sure!

Clarification is needed.

For readers in general, it should be remembered that any group that has two shot holes separated by paper and not touching each other can't be less than the diameter of a .22 round.

Below are shots that are just touching and have a group size of .22". If there were any space between the two shots on the left, the group can't be smaller than .22" center-to-center.

This challenge is perfect for an individual that wants to improve their abilities by providing additional purpose to practice sessions. I'd like to thank Underthegun for all his efforts with this challenge.

I'm using a Vudoo V22S with a Nightforce 15X55 sitting on a 1st Generation SEB front rest and a Edgewood Gator rear bag.

Group #1 0.382 - 0.210 = 0.172
Group #2 0.488 - 0.210 = 0.278
Group #3 0.577 - 0.210 = 0.367
Group #4 0.470 - 0.210 = 0.260
Group #5 0.599 - 0.210 = 0.389
Average 0.293
