WK180 Gen 2 builds

I think a 1-8 power scope would be perfect.
I like using the bigger scope for load development

if i can find it again. pretty sure i saw it posted on this board, somewhere... it had pretty much everything on it the OIC didn't include. WK, PCC's etc

Yes it even had Browning BAR on it. Some fudd are in for a rude awakening when they will learn their moose gun for the past 20 years is an assault rifle haha.

Not many build pic's in this thread so I thought I'd add mine if anyone is interested

After seeing yours I decided to take a similar approach, only permanent modification was shortening the gas regulator so it fit behind the sight block.
Modified a Ar15 Front sight block, modified set of FAL handuards and a CQ311 stock on it to give it a different profile than the standard A2.

Looks good . I did start out with a AR front sight and carry handle like you did but decided I wanted to go more for the FAL look .
I used a Gen 1 handguard and modified a set of fiberglass FAL handguards and permanently attached them to a modified gen 1 handguard .
I didn't want to cut my gas regulator and bought a spare gen 2 regulator off a CGN member but it never showed up .
I see TNA now have a short adjustable gas regulator that fit's the gen 1 & 2 , thinking of using one of them
Still working on a set of wood FAL handguards to replace the black fiberglass ones I used .
How did you secure your handguards to the rifle ?

I drilled a hole through the front sight block for the original FAL handguard front retaining screw, in the rear I drilled a hole in the each handguard and screwed it on using the original barrel nut threads.

I really like the look of Gen2 but doesn't sound like they've made any other improvements, Templar is very scar like I'd like to fondle one to see if I like it or not. Not going to buy one online

There are many improvements like the staked gas block srews along with a c clip to prevent the gas block from drifting forward. STANAG magazine insert dimensions, an AR buffer tube locking ring to allow usage of many commercial and Mil Spec butt stocks, mil spec receiver captive pins, mil spec fire control group pins, mil spec safety and provision for beaver tail grips not to mention the non reciprocating charge handle.

Not the same rifle at all.

I just wish there were mid length gas system rods available.

If you're willing to do a barrel swap, thirdechelon dot ca has mid length WK pistons and matching barrels. Or could you seal the carbine length port somehow (MRA straight pull seal or crimped gas tube piece) and tap a mid length port in the barrel?
