We got our optic today. Anyone considering spending $2000 - $4000 on an optic should seriously consider this scope. It's seriously under priced.
long run is the only way to know ...
I would argue warranty and support is the only unknown. The scope is made by a reputable manufacturer but all scopes can fail (debris inside lens on the same focal plane of the reticle, POI shift, reticle moving, bad tracking, faulty parallax, illum not working etc.)
It happens to S&B, Nightforce and Leupold so this will happen to Apex as well.
Here it is on a Grey Birch LDR, with a built-in 20 MOA rail, on an MDT medium one-piece mount (1.34" height). Lots of clearance.
Lots of space to play back and forth, the eyebox is quite large.

I'm out for the moment, but I'll measure the space between the bell with the cap on, and I'll let you know how much clearance there is.
I think 1" should be fine, but I'm not sure.
That bump below the turrets worries me too... with a 1" 1pc mount there isnt much space between the 'floor' of the mount and the tube cradle. Measure how far that bump protrudes from the bottom of the tube too, please.
OK, sorry for the delay, I went out and measured it with a set of calipers, so it's about as precise as you're going to get while mounted.
On this particular one-piece mount, there's 6.5mm of clearance (0.255") between the floor of the mount and the bottom of the erector housing.
I'd honestly say that you should most likely just go with a solid set of rings if you're looking to go as low as 1". Does anyone make a 1" tall one-piece mount?
OK yeah, because I just recall their 1.25" "LOW" unitized mount, but maybe they used to. All good, I hope the info was useful to you.
Just curious if anyone has heard any updates on the Hunting scope which was mentioned earlier in this thread?
