Anyone have any real world experience using 7.62x39 for deer? How did you make out?
I am thinking of taking this round afield with some Hornady SST's, shots will be under 100 yards.
It will kill deer if you do your part.
Heck, guys use 30-39 or 243 win all the time.

Hunting deer with my cz 527 in 7.62x39 this year. Three bullets to choose from, Hornady 123 gr sst, Interlock SP 123 gr and Barnes TSX 123gr. My cz 527 is sub MOA with hand loads, and 1-2moa with Barnaul, PPU, and S&B factory ammo. I am confident the 7.62x39 is a good deer round within 100 yards.
its proberly, realistically, a near perfect "deer" cartridge TBH.... but of course, you should use a 338 win mag
