Transfer times in BC

Tried calling at noon today, recording told me to bugger off. Have never actually gotten through or even pit on hold. Still waiting on a transfer from a June 4th purchase and another in July...

Did you try the 9530 extention?
I have been put through every time...%60 of the time.
The volume has eased up quite a bit over the past month.

I need an ATT to go and get my restricted from a gunsmith and I can't get through. What am I supposed to do? He's had it for a weeks because every single time I call, I cannot get through.

What would be good if people that are waiting and getting impatient for their restricted transfers to be approved, were to chill out and have a bit more patience and only call in when its been over 6-8 weeks. Let the CFO's office do their job and not clog up phone lines. I have a buddy that is waiting on his first RPAL since November 2021 and he can't through on the phone lines either. He tried 5 times this morning starting at 9:00am and could not get through. He wants to buy a handgun but is getting afraid that he will not have his RPAL in time.

I believe there is an email address you can email with a request for an STATT. Perhaps some one with more knowleged will chime in.

Edit: Maybe try this one? BCYTCFP@rcmp-grc.gc.ca

Thanks dude, just sent them an email with information for an ATT. Hopefully they issue it.

No prob. Hopefully it works. I had posted about calling for an STATT on here and another member was unaware that you could call for and STATT and stated that they had always used email. Infact I think it was in this thread.

June 20th applied for transfer finally got notice it is done today August 25th.
Tried to expedite it but could never get through on the phone to BC Firearms officer.

Called in on the 9530 extension. Took a few tries. Some “we’re too busy” some “our office is closed” and one time in queue dropped after 20 mins. Ultimately probably 15 dials over the course of the morning. Told her I wanted to check status of 2 week old transfer. She did it on the spot and I had the transfer notification in my email before we hung up the phone. Unfortunately they wouldn’t look up and do my wife’s transfer without her on the phone.
