Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

I may be naive but I honestly think that they will start to look a ways to make the program more efficient and start getting this backlog cleared up.

That being said it will need some pressure from the retailers and consumers based on “cutting red tape and getting business and money moving in a more cost effective fashion” before we see it. Pressure from us based on the fact we want to get our guns faster might not be that effective. The hook has to be one that fits the party platform if efficiencies and more streamlined business practices and happy consumers aka voters.

then maybe they should dip into that $800k Mendocino gave them last week and hire some freaking help and not have a kick ass christmas party :)

Again, medicino never gave the CFP or the provincial CFO in NB $800,000.

He gave the city of Miramichi $821,000 to combat "guns and gangs". The mayor said very clearly at the news conference they don't have an issue with "guns and gangs" so they will use it to "help people with drug addictions"

Speaking of trying to speed things up, has anyone recently heard anything from the ombudsman’s office beyond requests for additional information and the disclaimer about not being able to do much?

Nope. Zero contact after complaining & receiving the request for more info. Useless IMHO.

^Wow!

Unless they do something BIG to streamline it, folks will wait OVER a year for their restricted purchase made anytime recently...

That's completely unacceptable.

For whom?

The system works as designed .. exactly to the requirements and specifications established and approved by the Owner-Operator .. the Lieberal's fascist State ...

Still waiting on my transfer from June 2nd in Ontario 59148XX. Are you guys who are ordering handguns now not concerned that the government will stop all those transfers come October? I would not even bother honestly

59148XX might have been ordered on the second but likely not processed by the dealer until the 5th or 6th. You are about 15 weeks at the current rates. I don't trust anything the government says but they did say in the actual writing that all transfers in process would be allowed to complete.

this just in from the CSAAA

That first para makes my head hurt.

"Ontario's CFOs are receiving approximately 500 transfers are received per day, and are able to complete about 500 per week."

I understand what they are saying... It still hurts...

I just ordered a new toy and got a warning from the retailer:

For transfers in Ontario, we are expecting approvals to take a MINIMUM of 4 months, and quite possibly longer.

Maybe I will see it in the Spring..

I also tried to get an ATT - it took about 3 hours. If the same folks are doing both transfers and ATT's, I am sure that they are a bit busy

What's your transfer number?
