Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Quick point. From the middle of May until today, the RCMP reference numbers are approx 130,000 apart. That's approximately 2.5 years of transfers in 4 months. These are based on my personal sales and purchases. Wow. It's going to be a long wait. My earliest is June 6 5916### and still waiting. On another note. Assume 100,000 of the 130,000 are purchases. At an average price of $1000 each That's $130,000,000 in sales. That over $10,000,000 in taxes. Big money from such a small percentage of the population.

Many of those ref #'s were private to private sales so no tax would be collected.

Quick question....if a private to private xfer is approved and the seller uses the web platform to apply for an ATT does the system automatically approve it or does it still need to be manually verified/approved by an agent?

I would guess this is just an electronic data entry with manual approval still needed.
It would help free up phone lines for private transfers, etc.

It would help if people posted 59000xx instead of 5900###.

The latter is useless because it could mean the difference of 10,000 applications.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. The seller told me he emailed the CFP for an ATT two days ago but hasn't heard anything yet.
I thought maybe if he used the webform it may be quicker. I guess not.

just got home from TACCOM. I engaged a CFO officer in conversation about transfer backlog / delays and some possible ways to expedite the process. Their response was that they are not getting any additional funding / staff to assist and will continue to process around 100 per day until they are caught up. LOL! They did confirm that in ON. there are only 3 officers approving transfers and 1 of them takes time to answer calls / emails. The other 2 are supposedly uninterrupted as they process transfers. They also stated that when the new bill comes in they may be halting transfers from that date as opposed to continuing with the pile. That directive, of course, would come from the top down.

Keep writing and calling your MPP's and the Premiers office. Keep bringing new shooters to your club. Keep your wits about you.

Tomorrow is a BIG day for the future of our country! If you pray, say an extra one tonight.
