Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

What we need on this thread are dates and transfer numbers. Enough with the speculation and chit chat.

Date initiated
Date approved
Transfer reference number

Anything else is a waste of time!

Their response was that they are not getting any additional funding / staff to assist and will continue to process around 100 per day until they are caught up. LOL! They did confirm that in ON. there are only 3 officers approving transfers and 1 of them takes time to answer calls / emails. The other 2 are supposedly uninterrupted as they process transfers. Keep writing and calling your MPP's and the Premiers office. Keep bringing new shooters to your club. Keep your wits about you.

I doubt they'll halt xfers once the bill comes in....they know that would be a nightmare for business and private which would cause a ton of unnecessary flack for them.
If they wanted to stop it immediately they could've done an OIC.
 
Can the Admin change the Font on this thread so people understand the content of this thread, if the private- private transfer people want to start their own post go for it… FFS read people!

When did this three become exclusively for Business transfers? It didn't. If you're so easily thrown to the point you can't keep up or are upset by private transfers communicating as well (as this is how the thread has been since it was created 2.5 years ago, for everyone!).....maybe you need to take a deep breath or perhaps up your meds as you seem to be easily rattled.

Don't make something that's an "us vs them" when it's completely unnecessary. There's already enough of that in the gun community.

Who did you speak with? I spoke with the man and woman at the stand and they told me that they are hiring 2 positions? Contract to help then catch up…

no it is not just a business to private thread, the only thing that is confined to business transfers is Wolfs spreadsheet. As far as I am concerned any numbers confirmed transfer is good info so welcome the private to private info

Legislation prohibits them from stopping transfers unilaterally, as long as the registration certification application was submitted before C-21 passes and section 12.2 of the Firearms act (enacted by section 17 of C-21) comes into force. 12.2 is the section prohibited issuance of registration certificates.

Registration certificates — handguns

47 Section 12.#2 of the Firearms Act, as enacted by section 17, does not apply in respect of a registration certificate for which an application was submitted in accordance with section 54 of that Act before the day on which that section 17 comes into force.

There is also legal precedent from 1978 Haines and his Appeal

Haines 1978 case first case

Haines is able to register his automatic prohibited firearm after the Jan 1 1978 deadline this is the appeal case affirming it

Haines seems to be the most precedent looking case that went up to NS supreme court appeals. That applicants following all legal steps to register firearms before a certain date, gained a right to have it properly considered after that date passed. Haines was able to register their automatic firearms.

Ya ok your right… Again I presume your too lazy to start your own thread for private transfers… so carry on being ignorant. I do not really care how this forum is conducted, I was just pointing out what the main reasoning for this thread.

I have read this thread since day 0, I have more than a few transfers pending… All I am asking is that we split this into two separate posts so we can both ( private to private) (business to private) see the progress, together it has become convoluted. This is not in either of our interests…

Now that really pisses me off! Why are they giving conflicting info out?! BRUTAL
I spoke to the lady in the black shirt / vest. She was about 5'5" with shoulder length brown hair.

This thread should be for both business and private transfers in Ontario!!! Maybe we can simplify things for NA sniper, so he can follow along

Private sale Ontario to BC.
We started the deal around June 3. I was unable to contact the CFP so I filled out the paper one, sent it to the buyer, who sent it in to the CFP.
According to the Transfer Notification, the reference number was issued June 22 (Not bad considering time in transit in the mail).
Transfer notification dated Sept. 9 was received by email by both myself and the buyer yesterday.

This does not apply to this thread!!!
It was the BC CFO processing the application. We are concentrating on the ON CFO applications on this thread. If it was the other way around, private BC to ON then it would apply.

There is nothing anyone here can do. I doubt the admin for this thread is going to do that, and i am not sure how successful it would end up anyway as you will always get people posting incorrect information in the wrong thread no matter how much they are scolded. I am not trying to take offense to your suggestion, but i am not sure what you want the posters to do about it when the thread all along has been open to anyone with transfer information from Ontario. Maybe you should start the new threads that are exclusive to either process and see where it goes?
