Chinese SKS 五六式 7.62x39 - "French Tickler"

Bummer!! Apparently they are not all in mint condition then unfortunately. Is it a /26\ late 70's production with matching numbers?

Numbers match, 23 million serial fact. 26, synthetic upper handguard like all the rest, bore is mint, but the pitting and stock wear leave something to be desired. Definitely a disappointment given all the photos I've seen and the distributor description, but not much I can do about it. :confused:

I tried. Bought a few one had a little repair in the stock. Kind of disappointed. Might just go in and be alittle more persistent. Do a lot of Business there

 
I bought a SKS from Tenda 2 years ago. It did NOT fire (gas tube was pitted and rusted). I complained, their reply was "no warranty on surplus". Now they changed their wording a little bit and "assume" yours function.

But for hand picked, I agree with Currton, NOT acceptable.

I ordered mine from Solely Outdoors and I have the same repair, exactly the same shape and size, in the location slightly above yours. This is weird. It doesn't look like a wood damage repair but like something (?) was removed from this place and a hole was plugged with this piece of wood.
Otherwise, the rifle is immaculate. I think that the stock was refurbished but the barreled action and gas system are brand new, never shot. All in all, it's a good deal for the price.

I have seen a couple with similar repairs, some slightly longer but all the repairs look to be done the same way. I wonder if it was to fix issues with the wood when manufactured, such as knots or small holes.

I think they are factory repairs for small flaws , the guns still appear brand new. Looked at 5 in the store all were mint but three had those small plugs in what appeared to be brand new stocks.

I'll trade ya for my "hand picked" sks I bought from tenda lol.
I won't buy surplus from them anymore.
