Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Been waiting for my RPal renewal for a while now(5+ months) and called the CFO a couple weeks ago. They stated that my renewal was with the Ontario CFO but everything looked good on their end. Anybody have a contact number for the Ontario CFO office for me to see what the hold up is.

100% agreed. Unless I see the transfer number within a couple of days, I always get back to them with "could you please provide it to me" and keep bugging them until it happens.

The best experience I had was with Rangeview, btw - they stayed late on June 3d to process the requests for everyone who was still in the store, right on the spot. Back then I didn't quite expect it to matter that much; only now I can see why they were doing it this way. And they told "now expect it in 4 months"... bang on! Tipping my hat there.

Just had my second transfer from my June 2nd purchases, initiated June 3rd come through. Interestingly, it is the exact same number as my purchase from the same day from a different retailer. 59036XX received today Sept 19th. The first one with the same reference number, initiated June 3, came in on Sept 14th.

Friend who purchased same pistol from the same shop 2 days earlier still has not received his transfer notice. I 100% believe they are no longer processing transfers in order received so they can hide the pitiful performance.
I fully expect to start seeing more people post their completed transfers in a random order as of now.

Does anybody know what would happen if I was to change addresses mid transfer? I've got some transfers starting with 6 at this point and am looking at moving residences within about 6 months. At the pace the CFO is working its entirely likely I would have moved by then, would updating my address with the retailer/CFO invalidate the transfer?

suggest you send them an email and ask, they are very responsive with emails.

If you do wind up emailing or calling them about it, could you please update us here as well? A lot of people I know have been wondering about it, especially with the ETA for fresh purchases going into 2024...
 
woo whoo. Wolf, you're right on the money. Here is an update. 3 units approved:

Recevied today (9/19/22) at just before 1pm

Can only assume they've divided up the queue in some arbitrary way that might make progress tracking pretty difficult.

I do not know for sure, but based on few emails I got from CFO, they process per day that transfer was initiated. They are suppose to finish one day before switching to next day. On occasions they have skipped few people, but if you let them know by email they will process it, if it is initialed earlier than day they are processing now. But as we all know, date of purchase is not same day as transfer initiation day. And most of us can only be sure of day of purchase.

And as private->private gets done for the day, staff go help with business queue, and my guess that introduces randomness. But we still see some sort of progression based on date of initiation.

Also I do see overlaps between days from transfer # perspective, specially in Jun 1,2,3. So this all makes tracking more difficult.
