Type 81 sr....

“DMR” and “Sniper” are just marketing terms used for civilian firearms sales anyways…

But I get it… everyone needs to pump-up what they like and rationalize their purchases to other bros… because “My T81 is best not-AK”

dmr is an interesting concept in all. as the svd gragunov was a sniper rifle even used as a dmr as well...

i do not think the sr81 is a sniper rifle even with the wood mostly of the chinese copy of russian svd. but i do like the look.

I did not buy this one because I am thinking this is a sniper rifle. It is a retro version of the SVD and shoots commonly used ammo based on the current line up of type 81 rifles.

I have a Ruger bolt action in 308 which is tested as MOA. If I put a proper mount, rings and scope on it (north of $3K) plus a solid rest, yes, it could be used as sniper rifle - I am still not shooting it a lot. And it does not look like a sniper rifle.

Not sure how much a real sniper rifle is but I guess you have to spend around $7 K minimum.

I am anxiously waiting for "I don't care about you" with his insights. Still wondering what he is doing in this sub forum and not bragging about his abilities in an appropriate forum. Maybe he did and didn't find much love there either.

Kind of missed "BeaverMeat". Are those guys brothers?

This is just an “accurized” T81 LMG and there is nothing wrong with that. The rest is all jibber-jabber. Can we get past all the semantics and the “wish it was x54r, bro” crap and look at this rifle objectively for what it is… a toy to play pretend commie with! :p

when i was in the army i was trained used frf1 and frf2 and in today norms they are not sniper rifles but they were ...

you can have a way less expensive rifle with a good heavy barrel and a fixed 10x scope will do it. now it may not be a sniper rifle per say as the look but who cares.

i will enjoy it and for sure will have fun shooting it.

Just looked over all the fb groups out there about the type 81. What stands out to me is the number of people who should not be in those groups - the negative undertone about the type 81 is kind of surprising, be it "this is just a SKS" or "not an AK", "fancy for a 3 MOA rifle", "mediocre", the list goes on.

Those comments are mixed with an obvious lack of knowledge about firearms and firearms politics and laws.

What are the reasons for this or what is wrong with people? LOL.

facebook is the reflect of our society ...

Ud be surprised how many people prefer super large grips haha

but there is a chance the builder of the svd,ndm86 or psl got an idea what they did lol ...

tabuk, svdm or m76 stocks maybe the solution for them. i wear pretty bigger hands and a longer size than most compared to most and i used few toys that we can dream about with not a problem:

we can complain, #####ing or adjust and adapt.

you said in one of your post Murray: some will try and will have no clue what they re getting in with red rifles ...let alone scope and the illumination that sums up very well.

we should be glad that someone got the idea to bring that to us.

All you folks getting hung up on Type 81 SR standing for sniper rifle and it is chambered in 7.62x39 if it makes you feel better SR could just as well stand for Sporting Rifle

The gun is what it is what it is called is merely a marketing decision.

Lol.. I agree.

As long as I can hit a 10" plate at 300 meters, I will be satisfied.

tell that to the people that used the tabuk ...

Didn't most of them get additional holes in them that made them not particularly alive courtesy of M110s or any number of much better built western weapons?

precision rifle? my point being it's not an inherently accurate ammunition, and due to its relatively low velocity not a particularly effective at long ranges.

But we seem to see eye to eye on why someone would get them. I'm surprised the price is in line with the regular SE models
