CZ Bren2 Owner: Info, Pics, Mods

How is the trigger on the Bren?

Are there any aftermarket options? I'm pretty fussy about triggers.

HBI makes a shoe that apparently really makes a large difference. I ordered a shoe, an extended charging handle, extended safety levers, and a 13.8 inch handguard for mine from the company that shall not be named that imports into canada.

Cobra... how long did it take you to get it back from Dlask?

i have the HBI upgrades on my 14" Bren 2. Although mostly minor in terms of enhancement, the upgrades are a welcome addition nonetheless. The HBI Trigger did not make that much of a difference, mostly reducing the Trigger's over-travel after the hammer has been released. The extended and downwards-angled charging handle is a very welcome addition, especially if you have an optic mounted. The extended Safety Levers are likewise handy for flicking the Safety Selector from one position to the next and return. HBI makes good stuff. It's not cheap, especially by the time you pay the importation fees and shipping, but well worthwhile nonetheless.

I also picked up the Medium-contour Pistol Grip Back-Strap from Europe Outdoors in the CZ Repulblic. They shippied it along with my Bren 2 collectable Key-Chain in a process that took appproximately one month to arrive. Very reasonable pricing and shipping fees!

Check and see how long till it gets the rubber stamp of NR approval out of your name

Nice. I bought a bren at solely and they were nice enough to immediately send it to dlask for me so im avoiding the restricted transfer process. Solely won't be able to send it out to me though until after dlask sends it back to them and until it changes from restricted to non restricted though according to dlask... although in all reality solely could "lend" it to me in the interim possibly.

That's good on Solely to do that. Mine is NR but Dlask had it for a while so I'm not positive exactly how long it took.
Fingers crossed it is a fast approval gor ya

Crossing my fingers that the shipment of these finally comes in eventually, would love to have one of the NR

If the NR make it before the Bren 2 is prohibited, then I will definitely consider picking up one of those. In the interim, I am enjoying (and shooting) the heck out of my restricted version!

I really like this folding charging handle from Neoteric Designs. Replaced the factory polymer piece. 6061 anodized aluminum. You can get it from Dan Haga's site or from A A.

Yeah from the same manufacturer.

No bouncing around when closed. But if you gently ride the charging handle home, even the factory handle may seem loose because it has not locked into the BCG (or receiver? Not sure). Needs to let it go at least half way.

Yeah personal preference for sure. I don't like things sticking out, so don't mind a folder that tucks in and gives you more surface to hold on to. Also prevents bumping into optics with a wide base.

Well, I got this thing back from Dlsk, and I'm actually impressed - the barrel's definitely longer than it should be for the whole aesthetic of the firearm, but it doesn't look as goofy as I expected. More importantly, although Dlask didn't use a pencil-profile barrel, the profile they DID use isn't overly heavy and the balance of the rifle remains decent - with the optic I had set aside for it, it still feels reasonably agile. I swapped out the stock for a G36 version, as the cheekweld with the factory stock was too high for the very-low optic setup I wanted.

way nice stock than the sr 81...

did you get already the approval for the change of classification?

I haven't had time to check yet... I don't think they send you any kind of confirmation (at least I don't recall getting any when I've had R rifles rebarreled to NR in the past), you need to call to ask.

Check online in your webservice individual portal. It'll show you all your Restricteds in your name

Has anyone with a dlask barrel tested out accuracy yet? I'm wondering if it's improved or stays the same... or gets worse.

Do you plan on putting a longer handguard?
