IN-STOCK: All-New TYPE 81 SR

was just stating would be a wasted cost for TI to pay for rifle back and forth but yes I know they would be good for shipping I understand there will be some users who won't be comfortable changing the stock themselves

I agree.

It’s in all our best interests that TI has a soft landing on this, as they try and fix the issue.

Haven't used mine I did dissemble on cleaning and found wood split already inside reciever so havent tried to use it. They did offer me a replacement rifle but that seems like a waste of shipping costs for both ways I hope they do offer just a stock the reinstall will be pretty easy. I don't mind waiting either i did already suggest that to them

could you post a pic or i can post a pic on your behalf? if you are unable.

I take the replacement. Sending back? Are there really people who cannot punch out 2 pins?

If you want to send it back:

Standard procedure in such case is that the client pays for shipping, i.e. recall.

make me 3 for that.

Hey man, and to whose rifle did not come with a nut with their trigger screw, I just asked TI if they know the spec of that nut and I can purchase one locally and they're not sure the spec too. But they're willing to send one out to me. Just FYI.

I think TI is doing an excellent job on providing after-sales service. This is my first-time buying items from TI and I'm very confident with them.

If you could provide a picture for documenting that would be awesome. It's around 7 failures so far in this forum if I'm right.

here are the pics with differents mags.

one 30 t81.
one 20 ak 47 modified to run on t81
one pmag ak47 modified to run on t81
one 10 rounds ak47 chinese modified to run on t81
one 5 rounds ak47chinese modified to run on t81
one 5 rounds t81

so yes the t81 5 rounds is a little bigger than the original ak 47 5 rounds but not equal to the 10 rounds ... maybe it is a 8 rounds ...

pic 1 10 vs t81 5/10 rounds
pic2 pmag vs 20 rounds
pic3 t81 30 vs 20
pic4 5vs 5 t81
pic5 10 vs pmag
pic6 5 vs 10 ak47

Nice mag collection there medved! Kinda cool maybe we can get even smaller dimension mags for it and still be at 5 rounds mmmm

I just got my POSP scope today and man it's a beaut! Solid good construction, very clear and crisp reticle and the illumination is just badass once it turns twilight or with the cope cover on just to see :p

Very pleased with the quality of the scope and looking forward to popping it onto my SR (tmrw hopefully heh) and then doing the screw stabilization on it. Also gotta say I'm pleased the Herron Arms mount is steel it feels like instead of easily marred aluminum.

I also received the scope today, and rifle is waiting at PO.. big day tomorrow :) . Scope looks really good, crisp reticle, great glass.
Deffinately nicer than Belomo POSP I used in the past.

i think we all agree that posp are a little less good than the pso scope especially the ones we re getting.

Just recieved the rifle today...scope still in the mail.
Initial impressions are very good as far as the fit and finish is concerned.

Was going to enlist my machinist friend for a solution in regards to beefing uo the stock, but he will be out of town till next week.
But just from looking at how everything is arranged, the screw fix does not seem very appealing, as the hole is too big with not much to grab on.
Of course a washer could be used, but then the dust cover would need trimming and the result would be somewhat of a Mickey-Mouse.

After closer examination, a light bulb went off inside my head:

Drill a hole straight down into the reciever plate, upon which the recoil spring assembly is anchored (this should not weaken the reciever in any way).

Of course this hole would need to be counter sunk to accomodate a wood screw (deck screw would fit the bill), so it wouldn't interfere with the recoil spring anchor.

This screw would then go straight down into the pistol grip (of course assuming the pistol grip is not hollow, as I haven't had a chance to take off that cover on the bottom yet).

That should be by far the strongest fix, due to the angle of the screw.
I of course welcome any criticism of this idea, as it is just a quick one off the top of my head.

good fix but not everybody can do it. unless done at the factory or by ti.

this is exactly what i thought of the other night, haven't gotten around to taking the stock off yet to see what the underside of the receiver plate looks like but I don't foresee any issue with that.

From the pictures ive seen of the stock, there should be a reinforcement screw that goes down from the top of the pistol grip area (under the receiver plate), depending on where it lines up under the receiver plate, I plan on taking out the screw, drilling out the hole, installing a threaded insert with epoxy, and then drill/ countersink the receiver plate so I can use a countersunk bolt to secure the grip, woodscrews seems a bit mickey mouse if you're gonna go through the effort of drilling the receiver plate.

I agree that a use of hand drill should not be attempted for this one.
The rifle would need to be anchored in a precise position with the drill going down at a steady and pre-determined angle (not sure what the proper name would be for this arrangement..a table drill perhaps?)

However if this was done properly, I can't see any way in which this stock could fail, aside from the rifle being dropped from a second story window maybe?

Ok this is new information.
If I understand you correctly, you are saying that there already is a screw going down into the pistol grip?
If so, what is this screw attached to?

There is a screw in the pistol grip portion of the wooden stock itself, its just a reinforcement screw to keep it from splitting (clearly didn't work as they had hoped) you can see it in Gnutzguy's video when he shows the broken buttstock
