How do you guys like shooting with the offset sitting scope? 
do you always aim one inch left of the bullseye? Theoretically, if you zero at 100m right on the bulls eye, you will print around 3 inches the the right at 300m .. does anyone finds that annoying?
I find the Heron arms side plate too thick.. if it was half the size, it would still work and bring the scope that much closer to center..

If your scope is an inch left of the bore, you should just zero so that your poa is one inch to the left of your poi, that way regardless of the distance you shoot at you shouldn't be more than an inch off due to the scope offset. Obviously this will be minuscule in comparison to the margin of error of the rifle itself. That being said even if you zero dead on at 100m, the margin of error the scope offset creates will still be pretty minuscule at the distances the rifle is meant to be used at. Either way you do it will be fine enough to hit a man sized gong at any practical distance so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Especially with a 7.62x39 rifle… windage dead-on at 200 or 250 meters and call it a day

Sorry dude ur out to lunch lol. The SKS sucks ass compared to the T81, have owned dozens of them .. All sks rifles shoot way different , some have ok accuracy but some can't hit a dinner plate at 100, mostly because of the stock style and fit , ww2 stock and magazine design .. If you want a old school full wood drop in stock, non detachable mag and drilling and tapping to mount a scope, go for it .. So if the SKS is so much better why did the chinese army replace it with a AKM then replace that with the T81? lol .. They made the T81 to be better than a AK , more accurate, short stroke piston ,can launch rifle granades, ect .. This SR version clearly has a issue with the stock but the other versions are awesome and superior to a SKS in every way, really stupid to even compare them as one being a WW2 design and the other a late cold war design . Only1 or 2 sks that i have owned are comparable in accuracy to my T81s. I actually prefer my T81s over my non restricted VZ rifles, they had some barrel whip issues when hot affecting accuracy .

Yeah one thing I can say is that I've never seen a stovepipe with he type 81. Some skss can be bad for that. The type 81 action is very reliable once you get the bits locktite'd and the mags ground down to fit.

Just out of curiosity.
Many of you had already shot these rifles before the stock issue became known...how many rounds did you manage to get off before experiencing the stock failure?
I think couple of posters here experienced a failure around the 200 round mark, but would be curious if anyone made it well beyond this number thus far?
The reason for asking is, I'm trying to figure out the margin of safety, as I'm itching to take it out before I get the fix from my machinist friend and at least sight it in.

This takes a lot of liberties. You assume the guy who bought the SR cares.
I’m well aware my 81 is not an AK, I’m well aware it’s expensive. So are SKS-D, so are SVT-40s, etc the list goes on. I like my 81, better than the milsurp alternative, there’s no shame in wanting to pay honest money for aesthetics, there’s no shame in wanting nice things. If the SKS is nice enough for you or others that’s great, it’s a different gun, enjoy it.
I don’t actually believe anybody buys an SR or an SKS for accuracy, nor do I believe either automatically grants anyone a better grouping. I believe some people find the SKS clunky and ugly, I am one of those people. I don’t see the draw to the SR but I also don’t see the draw to most 5.56 black rifles and I see people spending far more money on them.
People can like what they like, not everything is an ego pit.

IMO this version is the best Type 81sa yet.
Poor out box buttstock attachment and the fact they didnt use laminate are my only 2 complaints about it.
Otherwise its a Type 81sa setup almost exactly how I like my 7.62x39 guns setup and for the same price as the LMG.
