FOC creditcard fraud?

Was anyone’s card used for any foreign transactions? I’ve shopped with FOC and the card I used was drained in Egypt, but so far it looks like this number skimming op is all Canadian transactions.

Definitely looks like a lot of people were hit. I made a purchase in September for a Type 54 right before the freeze came in and about 3 weeks later I had a "pre-auth" for a few bucks for Uber and then an actual charge around $45 from Uber and then another "pre-auth" for $11 I think. Luckily my credit card app notifies me immediately when any type of charge is done and woke me up on a Saturday morning when my phone was vibrating from the app notifying me. Immediately knew it wasn't me, I don't use Uber, and I called Mt credit card company immediately and canceled the card. Definitely nice having an app that notifies you of charges or pre-auth charges immediately when they are done cause that may of saved my ass from a ton of charges to dispute. Luckily my charges were immediately resolved but it also kept me away from making another purchase recently from FOC since that is the only place I had used my card over a couple month period.

But you still have to contact your Card holder and dispute that charge so it’s a early warning!
What app is that? And do they have your full CC # and you Info? Could be good or more cracks in the Dam?

Not an app, it is through the CC company itself. I would think most CC companies have the same feature. Logged onto both RBC for my Visa and CTC financial for my MC and set it up.

Well, hopefully you guys are having more luck than I am with refunds.
Since I use a CC that’s not a bank, and I have no other relationship with them they are giving me the gears.
You’d figure FOC admitting they were hacked and so many people having issues it would be cut and dry.
They want me to make at least minimum payments on the fraud and give them up to 90 days to resolve it.
Wtf is this.

Making payments even at a minimum, can suggest you accept the charges. I've spoken to a lawyer about this before.

This isn't legal advice in any shape or form, but what was recommended to me was if I was going to make minimum payments that I send in a written letter beforehand saying the only reason why I'm making minimum payments is to avoid interest charges and or bad credit and that you and do not accept those charges as your own and they are fraudulent.

Your local law society may have a lawyer referral service that will give you free or very cheap consultation on matters.

Thanks! Not being Teksavvy and I didn’t know.
But this thread got me looking!!
So I was able to set up Online Banking to notify me of a purchase made by my CC.
Sweet! TY

WOW. Then why wouldn’t these companies just drag their feet? Most people I know would rather pay a charge that’s not theirs than risk burning their credit, that pisses me off substantially.

So, don’t make the payment on charges I did make, and my credit gets nuked.
Make the interest only payments to save my credit and they will claim that’s an admission of ownership of the debt?
####ing clown world.

Thank you for starting this thread. Made a purchase at FOC on Oct 24th, just checked my CC online and have $1,600+ of fraud in the last 3 weeks.

What a shame. Needed to order some ammo since the province I’m in has next to nothing for pistol ammo.

Anyone have any problems ordering from Cabela’s? I figure a company like that won’t have any issues…
