Yea, when did the rifles originally show up? 10yrs ago?
In that time there's been some mag adapters and a stock adapter, and that's pretty much it for the aftermarket
So I was never holding my breath for some new designs lol
Oh well.. I can confirm that OEM stock is really bad after my first trip to the range. It just looks and feels like one big cost savings measure. ..But look, mom, ACR stock! 
I actually wanted to cerakote the rifle the same color, but CSC told me that old stocks don't fit, so I didn't. They clearly never tried to actually fit an old stock to this rifle, because it is exactly the same footprint. Probably just took FAMAE word as is. Well, bad thing is, colors don't match. Good thing is, it is OEM Bushmaster stock, so works really well.

Good question! I dont think so, but I dont have an old 540, but can check with the 542 I have (I dont know if the old 542 and 540's had the same stock attachment)

Can you check if OEM handguards fit?

You can dye that Buttstock Black to colour-match the rest of your rifle if you choose to. Just use a package of RIT brand Black Dye and boil it up on the stove. Follow the directions and it will turn out excellent. The only way that you will be able to tell is if you scratch deep enough below the surface to reveal the originai colour. I've done several Magpul Coyote Buttstocks to Black with excellent results - you'd never know that they weren't factory black stocks. The dye gets into all of the nnoks and crannies no problem, producing an opaque, even Black finish.
Hopefully this helps your situation, especially since Magpul have apparently ceased production again so stocks are going to become scarce...

i am just outside of Edmonton. We could arrange a test-fitting of the classic SG 540 Handguard if you are willing to come to me with your new rifle (I'm in a wheelchair, so mobile but with winter limitations). Just PM me if you wish to link up. I am about 10 min from the Northern Edmonton City Limit.
The OG Handguard fits entirely within the Nose Cap at the front of the Rifle behind the Gas Block. In a photo that I saw, the new Handguards seem to fit around the outside of the Nose Cap, hooking onto lugs sticking out of the exterior of the Cap. If that is the case, then the OG Handguards won't work with the new rifles. We won't know for sure what is possible until "firebat" and myself link up next weekend with the various bits and pieces old and new to see what is actually possible (unless someone with both versions of the SG 540 beats us to the punch). Either way, we will know for certain in a week's time....
I have 2 X95’s and I would completely agree with you sir. Aside from being a compact rifle, it is missing the ergonomics and accuracy compared to an AR15. I put a some money to pre order a NR CZ Bren 2 but it probably won’t happen with this new proposed legislation by the libs. I went to CSC yesterday to check on the Famae and I would say it is a great design but would benefit from the use of a NATO Stanag compliant magazine
