they pick and choose which laws they enforce. why are so many people still out hunting and at ranges with non-regestered guns?

Thanks for reminding them of the most pressing law enforcement issue.

Thanks for the post. I'm really looking forward to a range report when these come out.

I've got one coming next in the next week or so. I'll post some pics when I get it. I just blasted to the end of this thread, so I'm not sure if this has been posted yet:

http://demigodllc.com/photo/GSG-5/ (there's a second page of thumbs too)
That solid plastic grip with the lip around the front bottom looks like it'd be uncomfortable for people with big ogre hands like mine. Have you personally noticed anything uncomfortable about the grip?

I sure hope somebody makes a mag loader that'll work with the GSG-5 magazines otherwise my fingers are going to be all copper'ish colored. :D

I DO NOT like this line:
The GSG-5 was designed from scratch to be a very close replica to the MP5. The controls are identical. The appearance is very close, and unless you have a real MP5 right there to compare against, you'd be hard pressed to find the differences.

or this one
The GSG-5 is essentially an MP5 implemented in .22LR.

And you posted this incorrect info here. The powers that be do their research here instead of doing their own PROFESSIONAL research by, say, examining a working model in a lab.

Not required....Read in the article that Zak kindly linked to that the mag follower can be retracted for easy loading.:dancingbanana:

I am so down for one of these puppies if they make it here non-res...

You've had a chance to handle one?

What else did you think of it?

No I have not handled one. Sorry if I was misleading. I was basing my opinion on the close up photos from the above link, seems as though there is very little overlap between reciever and stock and no way to pull the two together like you usally would expect. only the one (or two?) screws that run through both pieces.
That being said a little acraglass would take care of any wiggle that develops from the numerous rigourous anti-bean-can tactical entries it is surely facing.

I am not worried if they come out for a not stupid price I will get one, just hurts the cause having it referred to in that way by a reviewer.

But you can see how the RCMP would think of it as a variant, by this guys words, having not stripped it.

I guess you missed this part:
Gun or Toy?
While it's not built as tough as a real MP5, the GSG-5 seems pretty solid in the hand. A .22LR rifle built for plinking and sport shooting doesn't need to be battle-tough, and I don't think that should be held against the GSG-5.
It's a .22, not a battle implement. Get over it.

^I concur...

no .22 is milspec tough anyways. I wouldn't wanna drop my 10/22 in or on anything.

My vz58L on the other hand can double as a boat anchor :)

If it was a non-res, I'd buy one of those mfiap barrel shrouds to cover the ugly longness.
