I also enjoy the .45 1911's but that big .44 is a pleasure to shoot and is extremely accurate once dialed in. Too bad we have the useless laws here in CA as I would hunt with it too if allowed. Tried many, many guns over the years, hate anything made of plastic and small bores are fun but boring. Had a 1857 navy I kick my butt for selling that was real fun to shoot as well.First would be my p320 xcarry legion. Coming in close 2nd would be my Jericho. The Jericho is so smooth, and feels just right in the hand. Even the trigger is nice. Only bad thing is the stock sights.
M29-2 6.5" of any year between 1971-1978 of courseI also enjoy the .45 1911's but that big .44 is a pleasure to shoot and is extremely accurate once dialed in. Smith & Wesson 627. Very nice to have eight shots available for a five shot course of fire.
Hey friend. Your Colt Navy model. Did it shoot well for you?
It's supposedly very reliable in operation.
Could you please summarize your impressions if you shot it?
Curious
typo "1851" I was really surprised how accurate it was. As good as any modern piece. It was a Uberti replica mind you. I assume the real ones are the same? mind you not sure I would want to shoot a 165 year old gun to find out.
My shortened to 4.25" Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull.
I can shoot super lite 200gr cast 45 Colt @ 850fps all the way up to 405gr WLNGC's @ 1280fps
