What is YOUR favorite hand gun?

First would be my p320 xcarry legion. Coming in close 2nd would be my Jericho. The Jericho is so smooth, and feels just right in the hand. Even the trigger is nice. Only bad thing is the stock sights.

M29-2 6.5" of any year between 1971-1978 of course:evil: I also enjoy the .45 1911's but that big .44 is a pleasure to shoot and is extremely accurate once dialed in. Too bad we have the useless laws here in CA as I would hunt with it too if allowed. Tried many, many guns over the years, hate anything made of plastic and small bores are fun but boring. Had a 1857 navy I kick my butt for selling that was real fun to shoot as well.

I agree 100% with your statements about the Jericho. What sights do you recommend?

Hey friend. Your Colt Navy model. Did it shoot well for you?
It's supposedly very reliable in operation.
Could you please summarize your impressions if you shot it?

Curious

typo "1851" I was really surprised how accurate it was. As good as any modern piece. It was a Uberti replica mind you. I assume the real ones are the same? mind you not sure I would want to shoot a 165 year old gun to find out.

My shortened to 4.25" Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull.

I can shoot super lite 200gr cast 45 Colt @ 850fps all the way up to 405gr WLNGC's @ 1280fps

I'm envious. I always wanted a Redhawk in .44 to accompany my 629, sadly it just never happened. I do have a 4" GP100 that will have to satisfy scratching the Ruger DA itch.

Beautiful 29! I recently received my 29-2 6". I wish it was 6.5" but couldn't pass this one up and wait for a 6.5" to show up. Glad I didn't. I would have ended up without a 29 in my hands right now. Mine looks mint like yours and it'll likely see very little range time, especially when I already have a 629 6".

Not sure what my favourite revolver would be yet until I have shot my new goodies but the 29-2 will be my favourite looker. I think my favourite semi would likely be the Shadow 2. It dry fires so nice and feels great in the hands compared to anything I have. I won't know forsure until I take all my new goodies to the range. My 13+ year old P226 will likely get demoted. Ate around 5k rounds. Everything still looks and functions mint besides the typical outer barrel wear marks.

Stocks by Herrett's, Roper design...

Ammo displayed is the Winchester offering of the original loading (yellow box from the 1960's) Lubaloy coating on the bullet (much like popular 22 LR ammo) This coating was discontinued in the 70's for a regular lead bullet in the white / red Super-X boxes...

The Remington Kleenbore box is the original .44 Magnum loading (box from 1957) These have been chronographed @ 1320 fps from this 4 inch, 1430 fps from a 6 inch & 1570 fps from a 8 3/8 in. Originally advertized velocity was 1450 fps / 6.5 inches. Pretty close !!

Favourite but least shot...686 with a 105.14MM barrel. Thank you, US Customs. I prefer my 4.2" Ruger GP-100 though for Competition. I lost it while hiking West of Heider, AK last October oddly enough and miss it greatly.

Take Care

Bob

I bought a used model 29 in 1972, with the 8 3/8" barrel. What a beautiful weapon, wish I had one with the 6" barrel. Favourite handgun is a wartime P-38, but the early model 29 is a very close second.
