Would you buy a rifle that is on the looming C21 amendment list?

The sheer fact that you are asking this... indicates that the shooting sports may not be for you. Try soccer.

(Not putting you down OP, in fact trying to save you from pain and heartache and loss of monies that you may not be prepared for.)

Best.

Ditto man , we used to say '' If You have to Ask ,the Answer is No ! ''

Hi everyone,

I am thinking of buying a Kodiak WK180C gen 2 rifle that is on the looming C21 amendment list with the hope that the amendment doesn't pass as was drafted.

Is it foolish to spend the money on this rifle that may not even have a chance to be used before the change is put into effect and is rendered useless? What are the chances that a revised version of the amendment list doesn't contain the WK180C?

The answer to your question depends on another answer to another question.

Do you still care whether the government labels your firearm prohibited, but will do absolutely nothing about it?

Some people have been using their Mini 14s for the last three years like the may 2020 OiC never happened. Others have been wringing their hands and lamenting their safe queen.

Some people have decided enough is enough and are giving up jumping through the governments nonsensical hoops. Some people are desperate to bend over further and take every inch of the government's increasingly intrusive gun control dictates.

What kind of person are you? there in lies the answer to whether or not you should buy a firearm that is about to be banned.

Historically speaking, if gun owners continue complying with every sniff and fart that comes from the public safety ministers office, then eventually everything be banned by name.

I spent too much on handguns last year so I have no money in the gun fund. If I did, I would be more concerned about the reliability and longevity of the wk180c than I would be about bans. Too many reports of lemons for me, otherwise i would have bought one by now.

I'm wondering how much info the Trudeau team is getting from CGN posts. I'd assume they have many trolls on site looking for more "resistance" ideas which they can counter with more roadblocks. I think many comments can be detrimental to our efforts to challenge the legitimacy of this grab. Just another opinion... Hopefully the CCFR can exert significant influence in changing minds and opening the minds of those who have been "anti-gun-conditioned" over the past few decades. The days of taking your .22 rifle on the school bus for after-school target shooting in the school basement range, are over.

When was the last time a CCFR ad campaign was aimed at informing the general non gun-owning public, rather than slandering their social media opponents or grandstanding for their own members?

It is a very sad day when you have to live in fear of what your government may do. This is NOT living free!!
It seems there are 2 kinds of gun owners. Those that will always abide by whatever rule an evil regime imposes and there are those that live with the "what gun?" plan.
Trust me there is FAR more going on with this regime than just guns. Guns is just stage 1 of their agenda.

I played the “ What gun to buy , game before.. F#%* it …. Just buy whatever you want… I’m the end they banned all the Non restricted, anyway…I didn’t gain anything ..

I'm hoping that C21 gets flushed down the toilet like the crap that it is ..

It's Trudeau's golden ticket to "winning" the next election. Although I don't expect it to get flushed, I expect it to be dragged on until election time, so he can wave it in front of the CBC and the debates and go "See? See? He wants to make Canada like the US", and in the meantime, we're stuck with a bunch of safe queens.

On the fence on this one....

I already lost ( well let's say can't enjoy my property anymore) for more then 10k so far with the initial 2020 ban.

The GOV intention is CLEAR. They will add to the list what ever comes up in the market to replace any "originals" or variants...

It's fun to own them... Yes! With that said. My shooting clubs already check our stuff just to make sure we do not bring anything banned...

So to me, the real question is... Can you deal with the fact that the only way you could enjoy your property is by looking at them at home and/or go shoot them incognito in the wild woods...

I don't know anymore.

Already cost me a fortune now just to reload ammo. At one point money will also impose is limits to many people...

I went out and bought an non OIC gun immediately to replace my AR the second day OIC was announced. And I shoot even more than before.

Think about this - enjoy and shoot while you can. If every minute of life is a bonus, the logical option is enjoy it to the fullest! If I know there is uncertainty about shooting guns in future, I am going to buy and shoot as much as possible til the day I am not allowed to.

Most importantly - the best way to explain, an army needs logistics, logistics needs arms manufacturers aka industry base. When the government cuts budget and the arms manufacturers left, the industry base disappears. Even if the government changes it mind, it would take years and years to rebuild the base.

When people stop buying guns, the dealer/manufacturing base is getting eroded. When the base is eroded, it would takes years to attract people to pick up the risk again and get back into the gun business. It took over 15 years for the firearms industry to expand from the Harper era to what it is now.

If everyone goes out and buy at least something, this will keep the industry and the distributor network operational until the next friendly government gets in. This is kinda like the government is buying a certain quantity in peace time to make sure the factory can make enough profit to stay on, until the day war comes it can go back to 24/7 full rate production at max cap.

I Agree 110%

At this point I'd almost buy a full auto AK from a drunk in the back of a bar on the downtown east side. I SAID ALMOST.

The sad fact is that if there ever were some drunk selling a full auto ak in a bar to anyone with case it would be better for literally everyone if you did buy it as its likely safer in your hands than the next random passerby who thinks nothing of breaking the law and doing business with seemingly shady people.

But instead our gun laws actually encourage good people to sell their guns illegally in order to avoid taking a financial loss.

Go figure.

Well I know my last AK's (semi and legal - I'm old) didn't kill anyone.

Hell yes I will.

In the process of stocking up and as much as I can before the bans. Funny thing is the government can ban all they want. They have no clue were the non restricted rifles are. So good like finding any of them. If I'm asked, I sold all my non restricteds to John Doe a few years ago.

Just Don't pay crazy top dollar for prices on rifles guys are trying to unload. I don't see anyone buying a five thousand dollar ATS modern sporter right now lol.

Picked up a Kriss Vector 9mm (non restricted version) this past weekend. Always wanted one, but never had the motivation to buy one. Seeing it on the C-21 ban list became my motivation. Thanks Trudeau!
