It's natural to want a good product. I just bought a new Beretta and the screw for the recoil pad was undersized and just pulls out. Not worth dealing with berettas horrible service so I just used a drywall screw.

First issue with My daughters Tristar 20 g semi auto, could not get the screw in choke out.Oh could get the threaded portion to unscrew but could not pull the rest of the choke out.Ended up wrapping the threaded part with rubber and putting it in the vice to get it out.Bulged in the center?not sure will try the other chokes when she gets home to see if its choke or barrel,Thoughts??

My Tristar 12ga blew out the chokes as well. Warrenty refused to replace them stating #3 steel is to big for any of their chokes. I replaced them with true Beretta Mobil chokes and it's been fine since

Should be a list of models that have had issues and ones that work great. I'm on both sides of the spectrum. 1 horrible experience. Many great experiences and 1 needing warrenty almost immediately but the service was great. I also had a shotgun that saw over 40000 rounds in 2 years and yes it broke some parts but it was also alot more reliable than my 1100s. The dealer replaced the parts free of charge after just an email with a picture of the part.
If buying an off brand the best advise is to buy from a respectable dealer that way if a problem arises the dealer will likely make it right

My 410 Charles Daley o/u shotgun is made in Turkey
Works like it should handles points well and I like it
The only draw back is that they do not have studs to attach a sling to it

Overall it was a well worth the Pre May 2022 purchase

Great idea for a new poll.

And some manufacturers make guns for other names at a lesser price point. Can't blame a co-op for building to an order spec for lesser quality for another name. Afterall our desire for cheap toys is what started the race to the bottom. Someone's clearly profiting from it

I had a TriStar 20 ga semi that was terrible. Light strikes, fte, ftf. I was told to get some field, not target ammo and "break it in" but try to find that. So I sold it cheap to a guy with full disclosure. Beautiful wood on it.. I then bought a used TriStar O/U from Prophet and it's been great at the trap range so far. Despite all the muttering that field guns have no place in the trap range..lol. We don't all have $2000 to invest.

Thanks BB that sounds like the culprit here she was shooting#2, 3" .The gun cycles perfectly and she shot box and a bit but as I look at the choke it does appear to be bulged somewhat in the center. Will go the Beretta route

Bought 4 weatherby shotguns about 5 yeara ago. A 12 and 20 guage pumps and 12 and 20 guage semi. All wood. Worked flawlessly. Wood is easily banged up.

Make sure the 20ga is of true Beretta Mobil choke. Some company's use different threads for the subgauges. Choke tubes are a weak point of Turkish guns. I've had some that had so much slag on the inside that it sliced my fingers pretty good

I believe that. I would think that weatherby would put some effort into making sure their name is not on an inferior product.

Mossberg doubles are made in turkey, I believe. The silver reserve. Anyone have one to speak on?

You might be surprised.
ATA makes the Weatherby Sa-08 and they are breaking locking bolts, it seems like it's usually while using heavy 3 inch loads but I do know of one instance where it happened with only 2 3/4 inch target loads. That gun was being used for sporting clays and I have no idea exactly how many rounds were put through it but I do know the owner and if I had to guess at a round count I'd say 3 or 4 thousand... which isn't much.
ATA also makes the Weatherby Orion which is a copy of a Beretta 686. On the only one I've looked at the top lever wouldn't return to center when the action was closed without pushing it over with your thumb. I expect that this was a roughly machined part that would eventually start to work properly after some use but if it's an indication of what the rest of the gun is like then I'll pass.
