Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

This pic should explain the mechanics of fitting the 20 ga barrels on the 12 ga receiver.
At one time Coles, and possibly others, offered 28 ga barrels that could be fitted on the 12 ga frame but they seemed to have sold out.
Yes, the gun handles really nicely---feels and handles like a 12 ga but with light recoil.

What I meant was that the 20 g barrel set would normally have a narrower and more shallow mono block to fit into the scaled receiver of a 20 g gun and wouldn't fill the larger receiver of a 12 g gun... if that makes any sense... So unless the 20 g barrel set was specifically built with a 12 g sized mono block for a 12 g receiver than I'm still perplexed as to how they made this happen.

I'm sure they used 20 ga barrels fitted into a 12 ga monoblock. The same way 4 barrel skeet sets were made by Beretta, Browning and others.

That 20 gauge 682 is a beauty. Got out to try the new to me 682 yesterday on three rounds of skeet in wintery windy conditions and now a confirmed 682 fan.

The 682's are real gems. But the new 692's and 694's don't enjoy that euphoric following. There are several members at my Calgary clubs that would love to trade their new guns on the good old reliable 682. Lack of quality control seams to be a big issue with currently made Beretta products and the value of their warrantee is questionable.

I’ve had and extensively used a succession of 68- target guns for many years, from my first 680 trap model through various 682, 682X, Gold, Gold E models and at this point in my life I find my current 682 GOLD E perfect for the shooting I’m doing, love it. I tried a DT 10, then a 694, tried hard with that 694 but it just never felt natural to me, just a wee bit clumsy in my hands. Switched back to a 682 GOLD E, all is well, for me this is the apex of the line.

Where abouts in NS is your club?
Years ago I shot the Canadian Skeet Championships at the now defunct Dartmouth club---it was a great club and lots of fun.

Just outside the town of Lunenburg on the South Shore of N.S. About an hour away from Dartmouth.

Had to shut down our old Sporting Clays field a few years back and built a new one on other side of the property. Pic of the start of cutting.

How about this single shot. This was posted yesterday on Trapshooters. The fellow that posted it says it was a "barn find". He'd never heard of or seen one like it. Didn't take long for collectors in the know to post info. What a very unique old single but it sure isn't pretty like a fine english gun. Must have been a horse and wagon gun as you'd need that to haul it around! Lol

I was wondering that myself?

From the posted link:

Overall condition is NRA Antique Fine with 50% original case colors on the frame and breech. Hammer shows about 70% case colors. The barrel is damascus twist with much of its original browned finish showing along with all of the twist pattern in the steel. The action looks as though it has 2 triggers...the forward one is actually what moves the hammer to half #### automatically and unlocks the breech. The rear one is the actual trigger.
