CZ Bren2 Owner: Info, Pics, Mods

For the production NR we're all still waiting and hoping but otherwise the only options are pistol/carbine conversions. Few vendors have waitlists/preorders for carbine conversions, have seen a few in stock 7.62 pistol conversions

Nearly 500rds through it and it kicks ass. Tons of fun. Super easy to shoot folded like a pistol.

I’ve been loading up mostly 69gr PPU, BARNES, and Hornady 62gr and 55gr with a few powders to find a balance of budget (re:bulk) and accuracy.

I did some trail boss subsonic loads for fun which was accurate at 25m then not at 50m LOL. Was cycling the rounds by hand.

As long as there is a war in Ukraine you won't be seeing any NR Bren 2's..

I hate to say it but this is probably true.

As a side note I don't doubt that the NRs would be awesome but the converted offering that are coming down the pipe in Canada are often very well specced with aftermarket parts and lighter to boot so thats an option.....

I don't see any new Bren shipments to Ukraine since the spring of last year. How did you come to this conclusion?

They aren't necessarily going to Ukraine (and I have no idea how you would see new shipments if they are?). However, the Czech Republic said they would be updating their military too given the proximity to the war. I have no idea when the NR will be coming, but I hope it's a large order.

Is the mechanical ability to swap between R and NR barrels capable from the end user level, or would it be an armorer/gunsmith level task? From what I've read on other threads, Dlask reuses the gas block and trunnion. How difficult is it to unpin these components? I imagine a head space gauge would also be required.

Speaking of NR conversions, mailman was kind to me today and brought me my carbine conversion! Now it looks like I need more hbi goodies.
One thing I have noticed on both the hbi and factory handguards is they are very particular on the mlok handstops/ grips they accept as they have a bit wider area before they taper off. Need to find an afg or foregrip I like, as the modular handstops are too uncomfortable with the big hands

Oh, I see what you mean.
P.S. I know about small arms aid to Ukraine because information is always available (especially if you're involved and if you have tons of friends in your former country).

Is there any company other than Dlask (OOS for 556 barrels) that offers rebarreling service with customer supplied Bren? RDSC and HiCal seem to be offering only already rebarreled guns, not the service of rebarreling.

Herron arms would likely do the work to your bren, Ian has done a bunch of NR conversions on various rifles over the years

Trying out different setups for my bren. I prefer the eotech setup, but would definitely need a riser for it as it interferes with the charging handle a little bit.
