Almost free to shoot? Let me know where you are getting these really cheap reloading components. Only thing free you can get is picking up range brass.
Last I've seen it was close to 300$ to buy 1000rds of 9mm at a store. Reloading is easy 250$ with today's prices on components. Oh yeah and the several hundred dollars for the actual reloading gear.
What's a cheaper, non surplus, center fire option today? I don't even consider .22lr cheap anymore if that puts things into perspective.....
That said if a guy was smart he'd stock up on what remains of the (also gone up in price) surplus ammo out there, I doubt it's going to get cheaper or more available in the next 10 years.
Then a guy could hope that BCL irons out their wrinkles and comes out with some rifles chambered in 7.62X25.
