CZ Bren2 Owner: Info, Pics, Mods

Need help resolving this guys:
Besides the 4 Torx screws (Two at 3 and 9 o clock) for the handguard…does anyone have an empty grub/set screw hole at the 6 o’clock position, I’m guessing it’s the trunion and barrel interface…

I assume u have the CZ USA imported 16" or that's what was made NR for you? It's a different handguard than CZ EU puts on the shorter barrel guns. Those handguards use the bottom as well.

Joined the party. Got my 11" yesterday. Put a HBI handguard and trigger shoe on it and a Holosun AEMS. Shot 4 groups of 3 to sight it in. Here is the 4th. This was 25 yards. I moved to 50 after that and had similar results. These are my handloads.VideoCapture_20240109-070422.jpg

Has anyone been brave enough to purchase a 7.62x39 recently. This over gassing issue seems to be quite problematic and was hoping to get some feedback. Or has a solution been found?

Tried going through this thread but it is a bit old and didn’t see any information. I was preferably looking at the 11” version of x39. Or should I just pony up for 5.56?

I sold a type 81 a while ago (wish I hadn’t) and wouldn’t mind filling a gap I guess.

I have a 9" 7.62x39. It shipped from IRG via the USA about a year ago with a modified gas regulator plug that completely solved any gas issues. Runs like a Singer Sewing Machine. Feed, eat, repeat.

Can't speak for any of the other imports.
 
Thank you for the response. Does that short hand guard get pretty hot quickly? If you could do it again would you still get the x39? Lastly how much of a pain in the butt are the proprietary mags?

- Magpul or some other type of a vertical foregrip is a must (yes, it gets hot otherwise).
- I installed the $50 HBi adapter that allows me to run the STANAG x39 "pistol" magazines. Now I have one mag type that works in all of my x39 rifles (Bren,WS-MCR,RAR bolt gun). Brilliant.
- Definitely wouldn't trade this for 5.56. I happily blast away Czech Republic surplus (yep, I don't give a f**k) for pennies on the dollar and with a 9" barrel I hose the whole upper down with hot water in the kitchen sink and then clean normally. Zero issues.
- The most angry and smile inducing muzzle blast I've ever experienced, and I've had my share.

Never experienced a problem with dlask NR barrel on 7.62x39
 
Thanks for the input guys. Are the 3 of you shooting tight groups with them? Been reading that there are some 4-5 moa groupings that are not leaving some overly impressed.
