If I did, I would play golf instead.
Hey, relliott, I love golf too! We should get together sometime after a match and go hit the links.

nice turn around

Don't forget this 35 page IDPA/CDPA/somethingDPA #####ing thread:

We both have the same problems and attract similar personalities.
Fortunately, we have a majority of good people to put them in their place.
Sure. I really suck at it though.Hey, relliott, I love golf too! We should get together sometime after a match and go hit the links.![]()

Vicious slice......
nothing other than asking if there are additional qualifications required. glad to know there is another discipline out there for the cast outs of IPSC
Well then let's try and be more accurate...
No one has ever been cast out...so wouldn't that make them "drop outs"
Let me put it this way:Swinging too fast, trying too hard, not drunk enough? Pick one.
this is all good, and as long as there is discussion there is an opportunity for change.I'm not sure if this really needs to be written because I'm not so sure that some of you will listen but.... then again, maybe some of you are the jerks that you are referring to.. a true jerk is the last one to know they are a jerk.
At a time like this when gun grabbing is the intent of our prov. gov't, does anyone think it is a good idea to run down or complain about any one particular discipline and push away potentially new shooters who read this thread but do not post in it? Oh and yes, I shoot IPSC and IDPA and CDP and I've shot PPC and I've shot skeet, trap, 3 gun, benchrest etc...
Is the current IPSC BB system perfect? NOPE. A returning shooter should be able to return after any number of years and shoot without the hassle of re-certifying, just produce a VALID Black Badge number and you should be GTG. The BB is proof of safety training, it is not proof of shooting ability. He/she should be scrutinized like all other shooters at a match and DQ'ed if necessary. Wathc him like he is a provisional shooter..then again, watch all shooters like they are provisional and we will be safe!
that's what I've been trying to say perhaps not with such eloquence and precision as you but I totally agree
Do any of you have an idea of how we ensure that members shoot a required number of matches per year? How do we address this if the shooter lives in an area with a very limited number of matches or where distance to the nearest match is a factor?
My suggestion is use any of the components Ontario uses to calculate classification. that would mean for those remote clubs have a ICS match and that would satisfy shooting a match
I've had members of the Executive (past and present) piss me off too through some completely silly behaviours but in the end, the job got done and I, and others, were satisfied. No matter what discipline you are in, there will be politics (yes, even hockey, curling, marathon running). I just ignore the politics now and enjoy shooting and teaching.
hey just because you point something out or voice an opinion doesn't mean your are not grateful for their time and effort unless you specifically say Let's kick so and so out because he's an idiot then that's way over the line and unnecessary
Does Bud shoot? Who cares? Does he make sure that admin work gets done? Yes. The only issue I see is arbitrary decision making on HIS part at times and that is not cool. Anyone want to volunteer to do his job? NOT ME!!!
We could actually have a non-shooter perform many of the same functions that he does with the exception of NROI.
ours iis one of the few sports that competitors are officials... never seen a ref of a game strap on equipment during a game, play and then return to ref'ing.... the excutives of most sport bodies are non participants so I agree as well

That my friend, is precisely the point. It's also a non-elected position, appointed by the RD. When the head of NROI can't be bothered to show up at the Nationals for years now, we have a problem.
fack, Irritable People Squabbling Constantly.
As for golf, I play once a year and feel a golf course is a good rifle range ruined. I've broken a few clubs, sunk a golf cart in a pond, lost a ton of balls, hit people with my balls, wiped out a 6 pack in another squads golf cart off the T, and got nailed in the kidney from about 40 ft away by a buddy T'ing off. Pissed blood for 4 days after that one. IPSC is a far safer sport in my opinion! and more fun too (again my opinion).
I agree, Golf sucks............!
