Cheaply made as in - an SKS is quality compared lol. I'm just a fan of old iron when it was hand made and hand fitted.
Not dissing the guns at all, they are what I expected and mine are straight and well put together, and yes, with what we have to choose from here in Kanada today, the price is worth it IMO but, I'm sure they were made for about 10% of what we are paying!

There are only 2 firearms manufacturers in Canada today i would purchase a firearm from...i wont say who they are, but they aren't kodiak...absolutely no comparison, the Type 81 is one of the few dead reliable rifles in this country at this price point. If you are buying to shoot, you cant beat it. If you are buying to look at and measure and never actually use, you may not like it idk.

I haven't had a chance to see one of those underfolders in person, however I had seen couple of short videos on the internet and I have read some conversations about ideas for a cheek riser.
Now...based on the little bits and pieces of what I have seen on Youtube thus far, would it be possible to somehow attach the cleaning kit container to the underfolder to not only be used as a cheek riser, but also for the practical reason of having the cleaning kit readily accessable? (essentially killing 2 birds with one stone)
The reason I thought about this is the fact, that the cleaning kit SEEMS to look fairly square, so it could sit on top of the folder in a somewhat secure manner, after being wrapped with some electrical tape perhaps?
If this is a viable option, maybe someone on here could come up with an idea of attaching it more permanently via some type of a clamp perhaps, in order to remove the redneck vibe of using the tape?
I'm basically just thinking out loud here, with very little to go on.

Awesome idea! I'm glad you thought out loud! First off, you're absolutely right, it'd be nice to keep the cleaning kit with the rifle. Second, I bought one of those single piece side mounts that were being sold on Ebay and ####### recently, which fortunately works with the under folder, and electrical tape will be perfect since I can't fit much else between the side mount and the under folder's arm.
I wonder if popsicle sticks along with the wrapped electrical tape would be a nice combo for securing the clenaing kit? Would still be thin enough for my purposes. Lol now you've got me excited to do a little arts and crafts with my under folder!
