7mm-6.5 PRCW

7PRCW is in use also, maybe reamer-specific?

Anyone have one at KTSA F-Class yesterday?

Yes when you order your reamer thats basically how its named and then you can specify your reamer with no turn necks and ones that you'll be turning, I went with the no turn neck reamer option, I ordered a Manson reamer

The actual Alex Wheeler version of the reamer has a slightly different lead angle or so he says anyway, which is available from JGS Precision.

Thats cool. Be interesting to see what they name it.
I don't think it'll have a "PRC" in it, I think too many people would get it mixed up. I could be wrong though. Time will tell.

Do they get mixed up now between the 3 PRC cartridges  lol :d RJ

Adding a 4 th PRC is gonna be hard on the dumb onesLaugh2

Hey Weatherby,

You ordered the reamer for this yourself correct ? or was it a gunsmith. I am thinking about getting a barrel spun up in this cartridge for my switchbarrel Tikka setup and just wanted to make sure there isnt a gunsmith up here with one that I could just send a blank to instead of ordering a reamer for myself.

I ordered the reamer myself through Bighorn Sales in Houston BC
It was the Manson no turn neck version and gunsmith Mitch Kendall (brno284) in Kamloops BC has the reamer.

OK a follow up range report with the 7-6.5 PRCW using N555/210M/175gr Berger Elite Hunters/once fired Lapua Brass, elevation 800 feet, temp 10C/50F CBTO 2.306"

I also had a 3 port Benchmark-Miller Brake installed, what a dream to shoot with a brake on it,

I have to say the Clymer stock is as nice a stock as Ive ever shot off the bench or freehand, I was free handing the 200 yards 8" gong consistently

57.7grs seemed to be the most consistent with velocity as well as consistently accurate this time out.

57.3- 2885,2880,2881,2884,2875,2885 100 yard group 5/8", 200 yards 1 1/4"

57.5- 2891,2894,2886,2891,2883,2891 100 yards 1/2" , 200 yards 3/4"

57.7- 2896,2895,2997,2899,2898,2899 100 yards 1/4" , 200 yards 5/8"

57.9- 2901,2907,2915,2909,2913,2919 100 yards 5/8" , 200 yards 7/8"

58.1- 2915,2915,2922 200 yard group 1 1/8" , no visual pressure signs

Awesome thread...even more impressive is this rifle build ! Congrats and thanks for taking the time to share with us. Those numbers at 57.7 grains are pretty friggen flat ! Nice job !

Got me a couple of 6.5 PRC's now...love em !!

Wow those are some fantastic numbers. Very efficient, thats the performance I was getting from a 7 saum with 7 more grains of powder. I can’t help but think Hornady missed the mark with the 6.5 and 7 prc when this wildcat seems to have the best of both worlds.

Yeh so far it’s looking really good, I guess all those F-Class guys using it with great success must know something,

I’ll keep plugging away at this thing !

Thank you for the kind words,

Yeh so far really happy with the paper performance and the build itself, one of the nicer rifles I’ve fooled around with.
Hopefully I can get it out hunting this year.
