So, any CGN's up for a road trip?

You bet I am in. As for time of year, not a big deal for me. I am up for a good weekend of shooting. Finally give my .22 Magnum a day out of the safe :D

I think it would be best to stick to rimfires. Most landowners around here aren't too partial to guys shooting away with centerfire rifles. I'm sure Sask farmers are no different. My CZ would be my main rifle. If the wife comes, she'll be packing the Savage MKII. Maybe a WMR might get the nod as well. You?

The gophers were so bad last year that farmers were supplying a place to stay as well as .22 ammo south of Swift Current. If you can afford to pay for gas to get here it would be a good shoot

I will bring my Ruger 10/22 LR and Magnum and I might even bring my .25 cal Webley Patriot Air Rifle to see if it can handle game that size.

It's a two days drive for us but we're going for a 4-5 days hunt in early June.
This is what I'll take:
.22 Remington 597
.22 Savage MKII bolt action
.22 Diana 34 air rifle (just in case if I can use it...)
and a .223 Stevens 200 (also, just in case if I can use it... :D)

If most of the shooting is in the areas I know...Im bringing everything thats not restricted :D
Nobody is gonna complain out there!!!

If U have google earth here is the approximate coordinates of my cousins home quarter. His closest neighbour is about 5 miles away. Noise isnt gonna be an issue at all!! :D

50°14'0.17"N
108°43'50.17"W

I can also probably get on some land east of Swift Current. Some near Ernfold, and some near Herbert.

Them be the Great Sand Hills.

Sand dunes and Mule deer galore.

Bringing up this idea with a friend of mine near Ernfold right now....he is thinking it might be a fun idea!

My friend is responding really well to this idea.

We are going over a few ideas and concepts right now...

He would be willing to make the vittles for everyone, if we all paid for it of course.(No idea how much per person, but wouldnt expect it to be overpriced)

Calls is a "Grass and Gophers" instead of "Bed and Breakfast"

Whammy, if you drove to Lethbridge, I am sure one of us would be willing to let you tag along :D:D

My friends place I am talking about is about an hour east of Swift Current. Close to moose Jaw.

That would be cool, If scheduling does work out and I can make it I would be happy to split gas costs from lethbridge.
Could have one heck of a party!
