All-New: Type 81M

Hey man. The stock is attached with a “Sigmaco” Zhukov adapter. It’s not really available right now unless you wanna pay a premium to find one used on GP or the EE. The mag is a standard magpul ak47 pmag. Lots of YouTube videos showing you how to make the magazine work with the type 81. It’s not hard at all.

Thanks for the quick reply and taking the time to do so. I'm gonna assume fabricator will soon jump on board to make their own given the popularity of this firearm. It looks sweet. I said I was just gonna leave it stock. But after seeing yours, that's not gonna be an option

Sent my rifle in for warranty work. Received an e-mail saying the replacement was ready to go, two weeks ago. Now not receiving any response to e-mails. Sent a final e-mail asking them to just refund my money if the replacement is in fact not actually ready to be shipped. Original order placed on March 12th

Same the turn around time is a few weeks from the time it's received. I talked to them yesterday and they're still super swamped. But like always TI is a stand up company and they will take care of you.

I hate the wait too but It will be worth it in the end

I'm posting here because I'm pretty desperate to find one, but if anyone wants to get rid of their type 81 adapter for buffer tube or pictanny sigmaco let me know in a private message.

There's a guy on gun post that sells adapters for putting on a buffer tube. But you have to drill new holes for the screws.

Just picked up a drum. How many times are you suppose to turn the crank on it so it feeds properly?

With it only feeding 5 rounds, you don't need to crank it too much.

If you cranked it a bunch, you can release the spring pressure by pressing on the middle button...

Thanks, I got it feeding properly now. I cleaned up the magazine but I guess i didn't do a good enough job. There was a some gunk in the feed tower that was causing the rounds to jam. I had to crank it alot to get it to feed, now I only have to do 1 crank and it feeds perfectly now.

Tactical Imports, a suggestion. I believe the general consensus is that the factory pistol grip too small to be comfortable for the average wielder's hand. Although third parties in Canada have stepped up to provide both synthetic and wood replacements pistol grips, would it be possible for Tactical Imports to work with the factory to create an updated larger factory grip, both as an add-on for existing rifles, and for any more production runs that Tactical Imports commissions? Just a thought.

There is no general consensus. Sorry but this just a untrue statement. General consensus is not a couple comments. Some will also claim LOP is to short. For me I would like see the brown military issued color used by military's elsewhere. There was no general consensus and especially one to redesign this rifle out of its true form. You want ad on's not production runs.

Just read story where media saying most Canadians willing to pay more for smaller grocery stores because they don't want to pay more at larger stores.
Please take my comments in context. Who are these most Canadians....

I agree with TJ, leave it. its the classic T81 look, it aint broken so why change it? why piss off another group of users? TI cant win.

besides grip is an accessory. those with big hands or like myself like to change it up once in awhile but prefer the option to switch back to the classic look. we could easily change it to what ever. i see some interesting grip and handguard are being made by the micro t81 accessories industry. it wasnt that long ago we were all were #####in that the only accessory avail to us was the original TI quad rail that bomb miserably.

For those with their heart set on a Zhukov stock but cant find the unobtanium Sigmaco adapter. There is another option albeit pretty cost prohibitive. Haga Defense makes a replacement adapter for the Zhukov, making it an 1913 interface. Delta Dynamics is making 1913 adapters for the type 81.

All in for both adapters and a Zhukov stock your around 600$. Pretty ridiculous but still an option.

RDSC has a couple of the Haga adapters in stock, Delta Dynamics first run of the 1913 adpaters are sold out but I assume they would make a 2nd round due to the popularity but that's a guess at this point.

Fair enough. Would it be fair to say a mass-produced bigger alternative pistol grip would be useful, not as a default, but as something people could order?
