Tactical Imports, a suggestion. I believe the general consensus is that the factory pistol grip too small to be comfortable for the average wielder's hand. Although third parties in Canada have stepped up to provide both synthetic and wood replacements pistol grips, would it be possible for Tactical Imports to work with the factory to create an updated larger factory grip, both as an add-on for existing rifles, and for any more production runs that Tactical Imports commissions? Just a thought.

I take all my OEM grips off and toss them in the garbage lol. I hate them with a passion. Bakelite grip for me or a nice black ak style grip

Got my mlok rail in, optic mount comes in later this week

Nice build man. Are you going with an absolute co-witness mount? Was installing the new pistol grip easy? Got my samson cheek rest. Need to grab the rail next. Was thinking vortex crossfire on the low mount would co witness on the handguard.

its worth repeating that the VZ58 grips works really well, all it needs is a 1 min filing to the top back. the FAB VZ58 grips are perfect for the big hands. there are plenty around so place a WTB on EE or GP or buy direct from Zahal (once a dealer here. US$33.52. I've heard they are still shipping).

I spent the afternoon modifiying the MLok lower to work with the original wood upper handguard. All you have to do is mill 4 slots to allow the wood to fit. I can even still use the MLok upper if I ever changed my mind.

Pictured with one of my fakelites :d

What the fakelite looks like in the sun

Which optic mount did you use? And can the stock still fold closed with it?

Thanx bfiles for the info.I will get a zahal grip and try it out.Where do I find the bakelite mags? What is bakelite and is it better than plastic / metal ?

I did them up myself, its not real bakelite as they are very expensive and sought after. I am out of mags from this batch but should have another batch in a few weeks

Yes the VZ58 grip fit nearly perfectly, just had to use side cutters to trim 2 peices of plastic off it. I just put the red dot on the top rail of TI Mlok handguard for the pic, I already moved it onto a XFiretactical rail so I can still fold the stock

Got my drums! Thanks TI, I like ‘em!

Cheers

And here is how the LMG (left target) & the UF (right target) shoot at 50m with surplus Chinese FMJ ammo. First shot for the LMG was high right, I adjusted & it was a little low, adjusted again & shot the rest of the group. First 3 shots were high right for the UF, I adjusted & a little left, adjusted & shot the rest of the group. Both rifles shoot 'within the blue' at 100m. It's easy to adjust these sights & I'm SUPER happy with my two T81 rifles!
