Using 40S&W ammunition in 10mm pistols: Yes, the internet says "It works" in plenty of Glock 10mm pistols. But Glocks are special. Most other pistols (and as far as I know all PCCs) are not similarly special. Even with the Glock there is no free lunch: Depending on your ammunition, chamber fouling can be a problem when switching back to 10mm. And it surely does reduce both reliability and accuracy (though probably not enough for casual shooters to worry about).
Look past some blog or article on the internet saying “it works” and there’s enough video of it actually working, I know most manufacturers are going to say it’s not recommended but they have lawyers and liability concerns telling them not to advise it.
For example, if you spend anytime watching James Revees or TFB TV’s YouTube channel you’ll know he’s a fan of the 10mm. He’s done a lot of 10mm pistol and carbine review videos and he shoots .40 in all of them as far as I can recall, is it harder on the extractor? Sure but it’s not going to do anything detrimental, do I shoot it in my 10mm? No, if I wanted to shoot .40 I’d own a .40 pistol but I wouldn’t think twice about it if I did.
