So does anyone want to call this one or is it too early to tell? Am in the market but making the right choice is tough.
 
I'd go with the R18 for now, looks promising from reading through the threads on it so far. I wouldn't put any faith in a politician but that's just me. Not saying nothing will happen or that I'm not hopeful but it's so easy to get demoralized going down that road. Get what you can now (soon) and hold it tight.
 
I think you are best to either buy a model that was designed and sold prior to c21 or a bolt action or straight pull. I got an su16 because its the lowest price and older design. so if there is a ban less is lost and if the future is bright then can always upgrade later
 
dont get the badger. looks like an expensive siberian , also ####ty of them to raise the price of it much higher after having so many people beta test the siberian.

All of these rifles are overpriced. Often times the cheapest stuff worka just as well if not better (su16, sks ect.)

How is the SU 16 ?

I have been reading up on it, watched a bunch of review videos.

Overall they seem positive, particularly on the latter generations.

That said there was one video review which showed how they can brake and it was a doozy.

 
^look at how many psa ar-15s you can buy in the usa for that price. Or one KAC SR-15 or H&K mr223

With experience with the AR platform, I went with a Raven. Other than reviews on here, I don't have any knowledge on the others except brief experience with an SL-8 which is a great gun. Only just got the Raven, with one range day break-in visit of 50+ rounds. Fit, finish and function are very good with no issues. I went Platinum for ambi controls, both you could opt for silver or gold models at lower cost. Or, buy a receiver set and wait, but nothing will happen right away with a change in government.

Just the way things are for us - wild prices for mid tier “AR” quality

However, look at the states and Chinese guns. They’d love to get their hands on a type 81 if they could.

Just enjoy what we have and vote for changes
