Definitely interested. As a lefty I tend to shy away from allot of things as I stick pretty hard to the left hand world and most things don’t accommodate it. However this would be interesting.

So if the price is right you will sell one to me for sure in a CF cartridge I don’t need anymore Rimfire.

I've already gone and bought components and dies for loading 5.7x28, just waiting on the announcement that these are available for purchase, they'll have my money day one.

Short restricted barrels would be an option, but the conversion kits have not been produced for sale from the manufacturer at this point.

I would be shocked if the shipment on the way was anything other then non restricted 16" 5.7X28

Ya wasn't sure how much progress Dark Mountain Arms made on the conversion kits since marstar's first post back in September. Was just wishful thinking that maybe the 9mm kits were ready.

Looking back at one of Marstar's comments on the first page, having either the 16" barrel or the 5" shouldn't change its classification from non restricted as long as it has the fixed stock.

I guess another example similar to this would be the SS-211 over/under shotgun that's non restricted and has a 9.8" barrel and comes in at 23" overall length.

So it would be nice if this first shipment had a few extras like barrels or complete 5" rifle models but you're probably right we'll just get the 16" 5.7X28 to start out with.

If things go well, maybe down the road we will see some mid length barrels as well, 12.5" would meet min hunting barrel length for our hunting regulations in BC

It's the usual cycle of people making excuses for not reaching for their wallets because some particular variant isn't available.

Looking at the rifle that is on the table, it looks like an interesting pack gun in a calibre that's basically .223 Short. Whether that's a wide enough niche to need to be filled is another question.

It's not that pricey in the bigger picture of rapid price increases, but no doubt many are cutting back on extra purchases these days and this not a super common or inexpensive calibre.

That said it is marketed as being multi-caliber down the road so speculation and wish cartridges doesn't have to be people with thin wallets.

As much as I dont feel like paying 5.7 prices to shoot one of these, I'd be potentially willing to pick one up and just wait for the 9mm bits to come along. Dark Mountain is nearly done with the 9mm parts, just have to have some come our way when they're ready
