I just picked up cil 830 in 30-30, same as Savage 340, I put an older Bushnell scopechief 2.5-8 scope on it and with 150 gr fusion can put 3 rounds in a Tim Hortons coffee lid at 200 yds, this should be an easy kill on a deer at 200 yds? Your thoughts please

Are you using factory ammo or reloading?

If reloading, are you using the 150 fusion specifically designed for 30-30 or the more pointy one? Google tells me the "regular" fusion bullets have a minimum velocity of 1900fps, which is probably on the high end of what you can expect at 200yds with those bullets in a 30-30. I suspect the 30-30 version of the bullet expands at lower velocities, although I can't confirm that.

The factory Federal Fusion 30-30 ammo is still holding 1800+fps and 1000+ft/lb energy at 200yds, assuming the bullet opens at those speeds that should be plenty to take down a deer.

100%. With good marksmanship and excellent bullet choice & composition, a 30-30 can make ethical harvests at 200 yards obtainable.

A 32 Winchester Special will do the same.......:)

Factory loads, seen some videos on YouTube and at 100 yds it was penetrating 30" in ballistic gel and 20" ballistic gel had clean pass through at 200 yds

Just wait for a few more posts, the pros will be here shortly telling their stories of 1 kilometer kill shots on 350 lb bucks in near darknes with open sights and factory ammo

You forgot to mention that they perform such exquisite shooting while blindfolded with their hands tied on their backs.
All day long!

thats a classic charmer, moose within 100 meters, any farther hope your tracking skills are up to snuff.it just a bit short on foot pounds but up close even a bear will get slammed down.

This observation is based on what?
The list of 200 yard cartridges keeps getting shorter and shorter!
