Look at Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom for countless examples of door-kickings in the past handful of years over gun confiscation. They are not all widely covered by the media but do take place regularly. How many doors have been kicked in to take any of these guns?
There is zero evidence to suggest the crypto will be the straw that breaks the camels back and lead to doors kicked in. It's not the 80s, yet y'all talk like you're living in an 80s action movie.
Man when I say things like these facts, I get bans. I hope you write better than I do and avoid the police appologists.“They need to have some reasonable grounds…”
Technically, under the law, that is mostly accurate.
However, I have noticed a very disturbing trend over the last decade, where RPG goes out the window whenever the authorities want something.
1) changes to the Criminal Code that now on every traffic stop (provincial authority) police can demand a breath sample with no RPG (criminal authority). If you are outraged and refuse, immediate arrest, criminal charge and conviction. This has already been upheld in the courts.
2) scared that the general population don’t like what you are doing? Emergencies Act! (Formerly War Measures Act). Do whatever you want to whoever you want with no RPG. A few years later, the courts may rule that you were not justified in invoking it, but so what? You got to crush the “small fringe minority,”, cut off their basics of life (including heating fuel), have the police stampede their horses over an old lady with a walker, and deflate their ever-dangerous bouncy castles.
No one in authority is ever held accountable. But the little guy is always crushed by the process and the system.
So whether they have RPG or not should matter, but basically never does.
I would argue that the people in those countries are a bit more docile then here. Especially the UK.Look at Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom for countless examples of door-kickings in the past handful of years over gun confiscation. They are not all widely covered by the media but do take place regularly.
If you can’t see it coming here you need to go and buy some glasses.
Sadly, I would expect a Liberal door kicking campaign to result in casualties - especially when the door kicked is on a reserve and involves FN.-
Precisely. They wouldn’t want any victim status people to be adversely affected, but any violence will look awful. Many of us served in the military, almost all of us are hard working upstanding people. We just want to be left alone. They're not stupid, they'd avoid that like the plague.
I imagine they'd go after the easier low hanging fruit first.
Middle aged, wife, kids, likely no struggle
I understand your thought process, but have to respectfully disagree.I wish the Lib's had rolled out the business buy-back sooner and the stores had run up the tab.
This will easily cost 10x the original Bill Blair quotes of $400M
It's too bad many on this site condemn shops co-operating with the buy back when doing so would be in our favor. It was cost that brought down the LGR. The same could happen here, I think even under a Liberal Gov't with enough push back.
The horsemen are pretty much on their own on this one. Every police force and their respective police associations have come out against the bans and don’t wanna touch the issue. The Toronto Police Association and Peel Regional Police Association just recently came out against the bans on a couple of X posts. Wouldn’t be the first time either.Making a big stink out of the actual cost of the buyback has for some reason, never been attempted as far as I know.
It's likely to be many many times more than the BS numbers quoted by the fed. Likely in the billions.
seems to me it could be a wedge issue, especially these days. and especially if cleverly coupled with real world data about how it doesn't do a thing to reduce violent crime.
I think the main challenge to this is that the Fed is not actually interested in buying back firearms so the cost doesn't really ever need to be paid.
They are content in making them prohibited and sending the donut patrol door kicking when it aligns with their narrative.
How many years now has your AR been a paperweight and still nothing.
It's just Pandering to base and stalling, no meat on the bone at all imo.
Old gun smiths. They're not stupid, they'd avoid that like the plague.

Indeed. They like to shoot and kill gunsmiths in Ontario.Old gun smiths.

With each passing day I think this is just gonna end up the same way as New Zealand. Epic non-compliance, but they’ll call it a success anyway.
Think like a woman would, 2-3 are driving all of this.Canada Post said no dice too.
I can’t conceive of a realistic way to do this mass confiscation.
Then again I’m a rational human being, not ruled by ideology. Ideology can make governments crazy. Reference; Germany, Russia, Cambodia, etc…
I won’t be participating in it, even if ordered to do so. I protect people’s property. Not take it.
We all know you are one of the good guys Jeff......Canada Post said no dice too.

And those corrupt police officers are being sued by the victims family, and the innocent by-stander who was exposed to their execution of a Canadian firearms owner and well known gunsmith.Old gun smiths.
Or even a Pop Tart bitten into pistol form.I have said this many times and people still haven’t clued it. And if you believe the liberals will stop there you are wrong. They will continue to ban guns as long as they are in power.
Yes. I know the demographics. Many women vote Democrat and Liberal.Think like a woman would, 2-3 are driving all of this.
Oh it'll happen you don't run Provost without a plan to do it.Canada Post said no dice too.
