Favorite rimfire ammo?

What's your favourite rimfire ammunition? I'm using Federals because I've found misfires with some other ammo.

People will balk when I say Remington Thunderbolts shoot well in my Glock 44.

Have a wack load of high end stuff to try in my Ultimatum Deuce when it shows up.

By a long shot, CCI Standard Velocity. It's not necessarily the most accurate (there are numerous more accurate .22s at higher costs), but for the price you can't beat it. Also, the FTF rate is very low or non-existent.

What Federal 22 ammo?
I have had some bad luck with the bulk Federal stuff and recently ordered some SK Rifle Match to try.
The Federal seemed very inconsistent with velocity.
Never had an issue with Federal 9mm or 6.5 but the 6.5 is match grade and gets reloaded.
What is the purpose of the 22 ammo?
Game, paper or poops and giggles?

Federal bulk for plinking, American Eagle HV for shooting gophers (I haven't seen it on the shelves in years), and SK standard plus for shooting paper.

Maestros - A lot depends on what rifle you're shooting and 'How accurate' you want/need. Fed Gold Medal is pretty good for 'low-cost' ammo that's NOT Bulk Cra*, but Fed A-M HV and Champion HV aren't as accurate generally because of being HV. However, some semi guns prefer the HV, so there's that to consider.
CCI-SV and Mini-mags are both very 'consistent' in speeds and reliability, tho the MMs are again HV.
I have several 22s that do Really Well with SK-Rifle Match or SK-Standard+, if you want 'better accuracy', but you're nearly doubling the Cost with those. Same for the Eley 'flavours', and both go UP as the Quality increases.
And the 'Stingers' OR the 'Stangers' will Beat up Your rifle/pistol, esp if it's a semi.

Super accurate. In the gopher patch you'll easily keep up with the .17hmrs.

Start out with some controlled shooting from a rest at the range to see what your rifle or pistol likes to eat. I like federal bulk pack for plinking personally and the 250 bulk pack in 22 wmr is the top accuracy one with my Ruger American. I personally do not shoot Winchester rim fire ammo but many do. I tried to follow up on a squib a few years ago and got no where so said bye bye to them

Hunting and plinking with my 17HMR and 10/22 I get my best bang for buck with CCI's. Cheers

CCI is hands down the best in my rifles for cost, performance and availability. Subs to blazers to minis to sv to green tags.
The stingers, velocitors and sub-sonic segments are the only ones that dont shoot the straightest for me but the reliability is near 100%.

CCI minimags are my favorite all round 22 ammo. I've shot thousands of them and I can't recall ever having a dud.

Day in and day out, considering cost, accuracy in various rifles and suitability for purpose I keep coming back to American Eagle.

If its all about accuracy and price be damned then, GreenTag, Gold Medal or just about anything from Eley. Only your gun can tell you that one.
