Can you log in to them to get a live shot?I use spy point cameras.
Easy to setup and seem to work good.
I want to be able to ask the camera to send me a live picture of what I have it pointed at.Correct me if I'm wrong, but you basically want a trail cam that works like a video doorbell, where you can open an app on your phone or whatever and see a live feed, regardless of whether the motion sensor was tripped?
Can't say I've heard of such a product, but sounds like a decent idea.
Tactacam. Picture on demandI want to be able to ask the camera to send me a live picture of what I have it pointed at.
Communication times (sync) are adjustable down to every 2 hours. So the SPYPOINT can be set to send you a pic or video at sync times, as frequently as every 2 hours without being triggered by motion. But you can’t command the camera to take a picture on demand from your phone at random times.I want to be able to ask the camera to send me a live picture of what I have it pointed at.
Battery life is drastically reduced doing this.Communication times (sync) are adjustable down to every 2 hours. It’s set up so the camera looks for new instructions from the app at sync times.
I'm finding the micro lte to be the best for reliability and battery life.I’ve had at least two spypoint replacements, may even 3 under warranty.
First cam was the budget micro link which had the best battery life and the picture quality was just fine. It had to be reset multiple times, which could only be done with the cam in hand which involved hours to retrieve the cam, hours to call in, then hours to put the cam back.
It failed and I think I got another as a replacement. Then that one failed and they claimed it was backordered and tried to upsell me. I got a flex “upgrade” for free.
The flex had better picture quality, but the battery life was horrendous. Went from months with the micro link, to days with the flex. I had to strap a aux battery to the tree along with the cam. What a pita.
It failed. The wife called in, I warned her about the upsell tactic. Somehow they got her to pay the difference on the new “upgrade”. A solar flex. Cam was put out 05/05, delay is set to 10min, and battery life is down to 74%. My experience is below 50% they stop responding.
The solar flex is now out of warranty. My first spypoint to achieve such a feat. If it fails it won’t be replaced with a spypoint product.
Subscription is due before fall hunting season, I’m actually thinking about letting it finish the spring bear season and just run it as a backup cam in the fall. Find a better brand to replace it with, and let the subscription go.
Interesting that out of season is 9 months a year, hunting season is 3 months, yet somehow I think every failure and reset occurred during hunting season..

Broken antenna?I'm finding the micro lte to be the best for reliability and battery life.
My Flex is currently kaput, cell signal strength won't go higher than 25% and seems destined for the landfill.
Switching to tactical shortly.
