178gr ELD-X load

So actually with a standard COAL its way over pressure and with you're COAL it's just over pressure. This is just what GRT says and likely every book or program they aren't always perfect. Have you looked at any other manuals? I have noticed before that manuals differ and can sometimes differ by a larger amount than expected with the same combinations.

I have seen some great groups shot off bipods but you have to ensure its loaded correctly (Leaned into the right amount.)

A chronograph is an extremely helpful tool in the reloading world. I can't recommend them enough no matter what type so long as its repeatable you're set.

Can I ask what you're shooting experience is and with what other rifles/cartridges? Also a muzzle brake can be extremely helpful in managing recoil so long as its a good design. Some brakes are absolute garbage and others are great but like all things you get what you pay for.

I have far more hunting experience than bench shooting, just getting into bench shooting and reloading on a low budget, I was shooting Tikka T3 308 before this gun and groups were around 1 moa, didn't get the flyers I do with this gun and it had more recoil.
I haven't compared other books for load data because it is hornady bullet with hornady book, I was shooting 180gr interlocks at lower pressure and groups were much worse so thought maybe go with higher BC bullet and try and push it faster

I might have found a problem, I was disregarding it up till now but at times after I shoot scope goes blurry and I have to adjust my parellex to focus again, contacted vortex and they told me to send scope in for warranty, hopefully that is part of my issue?
And yet another Vortex failure!.....:( :( GO FIGURE!

Go China-Con-Carney-go.

Don't buy Chinese sh!t scopes!:ROFLMAO:

Lot's of better options for glass.:);)

Got another scope you can put on there? Even a basic 3-9x40 should be plenty to confirm the scope was the issue.

My shooting setup is bipod which needs upgraded as it is not very rigid,
DING DING DING, I think we have a winner.

Are you shooting off a table or prone? Bipod off a table is the worst combination. The bipod wants to bounce off the table under recoil. Either get a better bipod or a benchrest.

Some people love to install spring loaded bipods with the legs folding backwards. That is incorrect because it will cause the bipod feet to skitter and bounce across a hard surface. Spring loaded bipod legs should fold forwards.

I had similar issues with a vortex scope on my 300wsm. Went back for warranty 3 times and now it is relegated to a 243 win that doesn't get shot much. I don't know if you are dead set on the 178 eldx bullet but I have had great luck recently with varget and imr 4064 with the sierra 165gr gameking and 165 tipped gameking in my 308win.
